Short Poems About the Sun
#sun
heat
touch me
all
that you
feel
to be
justified,
to be
fair,
tickle
my exposed
skin,
still knowing
i will not
be able
to return
or give
what
your favor
i received.
all
that you
feel
to be
justified,
to be
fair,
tickle
my exposed
skin,
still knowing
i will not
be able
to return
or give

Still-born Tomorrow
Mysterious moon.
Lay up on the sun's hot fire
Still-born tomorrow.
Lay up on the sun's hot fire
Still-born tomorrow.

in the desert
here
i saw
myself alone
in the
ocean
of sand,
my shoes
leaving
their
conversations,
my thoughts
running low,
and
in the end,
i lost
myself
out there,
to be
weathered,
my silence
got no
discussion
from
the sky,
the wind,
all those
little
creatures
thought
nothing
while
trespassing
over
my bones.

and i sat
waiting,
hoping,
one
more day,
from darkness
to trade
with
that bright
sun,
to trade
stories,
to laugh
at each
other's jokes,
to see
how long
i can wait.

Pillowy
Is there a field
Somewhere
With soft grass
Beautiful dandelions
And nothing but the sounds of the wind
And the clouds moving
Softly
So much softness
Can I go?

Food For The Soul
A golden anklet
Golden bracelets
Necklace
Earrings
Except I feel no more golden
Than a rotten mango in the sun

Impossible Things
Like dipping my feet into a golden sunset
Or drinking the moon from a silver straw
I like to do impossible things
Or drinking the moon from a silver straw
I like to do impossible things

Fading Memory
solar radiation
orange red purple
cloudy irregularity
focused through
corneal filtration
visions of eye
analyzed with
retinal detachment
cerebral recognition
unrecognizable
patterns shifting color
increasingly intense
fading slowly
oozing into
shades of gray

counting stars
it all
began
seemingly
innocent
enough,
that great
task,
to go
outside,
to count
the stars,
ones
that wait
just above
my head,
these pleasures
woke up
the moon,
it became
happy
woke up
the sun,
but he
was not
happy,
and now
waiting
on his
jealousy
to run
its course,
i will
get back
to counting
more stars
when
the sun
again
relents
his sky.
