The gravity of little things
Newton, Galileo
how did they get it so wrong
hoping planets won't fly off into space
believing the earth revolves around the sun
how do they explain the gravity of little things
my cat cratering into my lap at night
the gravitational force
of the coffee maker in the morning
and why do red lights seem to love me
whenever I'm in a hurry
how can science ever explain
the force of your smile
as my lips are drawn to yours
or the gravity of your beautiful eyes
as I'm pulled into magnetic storms of desire
a universal force...

Guide me to the nearest Gene Pool
If I decided to piss in the gene pool,
would a new genetic variant be created?
Maybe my genetics would create a new species or a hybrid
Anything is an improvement of what currently resides on this planet

the scientific mind

april songs: elements of life 2
april song 12—water
splashing, dashing restless river,
to the thirsting land a giver
of the wetness of salvific
heritage, and all the civic
liberties of struggling neighbours.
you have softened all their labours;
for although the crops are not yet,
they are not betrayed by hard sweat.
life you give, yet take you burdens,
bearing peasants o'er high hurdles;
fisher folk dwell on your mud banks,
as do citizens of high ranks.
do you ever feel like resting?
there's a haven quite interesting!
mark you...

april songs: elements of life 1
april song 11—air
it invades my lungs to live me,
and expires but to give me
breath control o’er living plants,
for my wastes fulfil their wants.
men oft full of it come pumping
tales of mountains they are jumping,
but the moment one confronts them,
they dissolve like flailing huntsmen.
hot air takes balloons to heaven,
cold air sinks, with moisture riven;
stagnant air the body sickens,
but fresh air the spirit quickens.
bach breathes air upon the g-string,
whose harmonics on the ear ring
for...

What am I?
Am I something
or nothing?
A state of Being,
or just recognised
for my effect on other things?
Theoretically, I exist -
you know that I do.
OK?
Scientifically, I remain
tantalisingly
out of reach.
You can speculate
about how matter behaves
but you're just
not quite there.
Mathematically,
have you factored in
my multiple factors
(both positive and negative) -
accurate to a certain degree,
at least,
in more ways...

This Strange World
Would be much more interesting
If hell really did freeze over
If even for a day
No bats could make
Their way out of hell
And we could watch donkeys
Fly high up in the sky
There would be
some sadness, too
If all who said
"Well, I'll be damned!"
Really were subjected
To a horrendous life
In no other place than hell
Your imagination can
Be a blessing or
Sometimes even a curse
So remember when life
Seems at it's strangest
It could...

New Beginnings
New beginnings
Constance and Dirk worked hard for the next few days on how the business could become more effective and the creative. Collecting new prospects for donors took a little effort as some, like Dirk, Lydia and Penny found that highlighting the benefits of a longer life and the sex with their vampire master or mistress got certain people eager to join up.
As Constance had centuries of experience in getting full vampires to take a small risk for what could be eternal life and the sex and the pure taste of blood was only marred by the vampire hunters that came and...

Dichotomy of Mind and Heart
Scientifically, legally obliged,
Unique, original, individual,
Intepretation applies,
Unironically unifying,
With definitions, semantics, observations, context,
Proving conviction,
In motive and intent,
Where beneath the surface,
There is judgment and opinion...
I see potential for art and heart.
Artistic, disposed imagination,
That's literal, physical, technical, carnal,
Perceives emotional attention span,
Vicariously separate,
In pride, prejudice, bias, and partiality,
Where any truth...

Not The Weight Loss Miracle He Had In Mind
Norman created a formula
that might make him become thinner.
But after he gulped down,
he felt strong pains and blacked
out. When he woke up,
he looked at the
mirror. He
is now
She.

Tube Warmer
Neurotransmitted static dreams of micro-existences
Scouring the memory banks as the protein twitches
Meat transformed inaugurated
Scion
Wash it clean then desecrate it
Bygone
Catalytic and biorhythmic
Self sustaining so pathetic
Compulsory actions remotely redesigned
An ape-like slight refracted devoted paradigm
Double helix
Expunge
