Evergreen Meadow: D-Block Chronicles. Chapters 3 & 4
Chapter 3:
Whispers of Change
The Spring Bloom Festival had passed, leaving Evergreen Meadow revitalized. Yet, a sense of unease lingered.
The D-Block elements, despite their contributions, were still haunted by something deep within.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the meadow, Zinc approached Ironside.
Zinc is a D-Block element, just like the others, and so shares a common background with the rest. Zinc is known for his protective qualities, often used in galvanizing to prevent corrosion; a...

This One's For Luck
Element: Sulfer
The Voodoo Connection
Deep in the Louisiana bayou, where Spanish moss draped like ghostly whispers and the air hummed with crickets and frogs, resided Mama Sulfur, the Voodoo Queen. Her stilt shack, a vibrant patchwork of charms, herbs, and gator skulls, pulsed with raw elemental energy.
Mama Sulfur wasn't your typical voodoo queen. Her magic blended ancient traditions with the bayou's wild heart. Her parchment skin shimmered with a faint yellow glow, a reminder of the sulfur that coursed through her veins. Her piercing eyes held...

Ancestral Roots
I am many things,
A fragment of creation,
Homo sapiens by name,
A species, distant kin to chimpanzees.
A warm-blooded mammal,
Descendant from ancient seas,
Where once protozoa danced—
The first stirrings of life.
I am stardust incarnate,
Forged from the remnants of stars,
Shaped by my father's sperm,
Cradled within my mother's womb.
I was born to a world without deities,
No whispered truths or divine decrees.
I am a fierce lover's only child,
A daughter made whole in sin.

Time: Love’s Lie
Time
traces imperceptible lines
porcelain ducks
frozen in glacial melt
devours everything
silently stealthily
advancing or circling
origami swans whirlpooling in air
Is it love or a lie
dawdling here in the blackhole
of time tick-tocking away
at least that is what the cuckoo
clock would have us believe.

Chemistry
The train rattled softly through the Georgia pines, golden hour spilling over fields of cotton like melted butter. I was scribbling equations in a weathered notebook—half-work, half-daydream—when the compartment door slid open.
She entered like a controlled reaction: precise, inevitable. Her curls were auburn chaos pinned with a pencil, and her eyes held the warm, calculating gleam of a labradorite gem. A faded "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" tote-bag hung from her shoulder, stuffed with a biology textbook and a dog-eared copy of 'Cosmos'.

Drain Me
Drain me.
Miles of vessels;
Atherosclerosis.
It's the pain I seek.
Lack of hydration that peeks.
Give me the salt so It can bring the water!
Horse piss beer, flavored with lime juice.
Drunk too much, here comes the headache.
Ate an apple,
And it disappeared.
Bloody Mary cocktail,
With herbs and spices,
A little vodka for over kill.
I can feel the hydration,
From salty water.
I can feel the temptation,
Of the beer.
Buy me a salt lick rock,
And endless Shiner Bocks, ...

Beam me up Scotty
Atoms make up everything and atoms are 99% space.
Logically then, nothing material is solid.
There is more space in solid concrete than there is concrete.
There is more space in you than there is you.
Indeed, perhaps without space,nothing exists.
Space the final frontier.... Captain James T Kirk.

One Winter In North Wales
The temperature dropped to -19c
I ventured out into it
Dressed like a yeti
There was no wind
Everywhere was frozen, and still
And a strange silence, as if sound had frozen
Then i remembered a science documentary
Where a scientist demonstrated in temperatures the same
As we now had in the village
Firstly throwing a cup of cold water into the air
Then watching as it fell as water to the ground
The part of this demonstration that wowed me
Was when she threw a cup of scalding hot water into the air
As it fell to the ground as snow!...

Shadows of Experiment
Title: The Web of Shadows: Unveiling the Octopus
Introduction
In "The Web of Shadows," we delve into the intricate and often opaque machinations of global power, drawing inspiration from Charlie Robinson's compelling "Octopus of Global Control." The narrative weaves together historical and contemporary operations that showcase the lengths to which governments will go to maintain control and influence over their populations and other nations. The story will intertwine the themes of surveillance, manipulation, and the erosion of civil liberties,...

Straight Answer
ANSWER:
It all depends on a lot of variables
like what hemisphere we're in,
the season, night or day,
the line of sight, wind speed and
direction, the fact that all rifles
have a right-handed twist in the barrel,
so, the bullet will eventually drift
to the right over distance.
Then there's the fact that the earth
is not flat, plus the Coriolis effect,
and the earth is spinning on its axis
and rotating around the sun while
orbiting around the center of the galaxy,
and don't forget that we are hurtling through ...

Chlorinate the Gene Pool
If I decided to piss in the gene pool,
would a new genetic variant be created?
Maybe my genetics would create a new species or a hybrid
Anything is an improvement of what currently resides on this planet
