The machine is
Hungry for money
Thirsty for blood
The machine is
The breathless immortal
Sniffing at your door
Screaming in the dark
The machine is
Born from the machine
Heart frozen
Soul washed
Mowing forests
Carving deserts
Leaving pits of filth
Toxic air
Toxic sea
Toxic land
Toxic animals
Belts of slaughter
Under Poison rain
Turning millions insane

We Are Our Own Creation
I’m standing at the ground level of existence
Looking around at the ridges and mounds of persistence
The erosion of my depression has terra formed the mounts
I attempt to climb the levels between needs and wants
Each level is sow with a different version of my pain
From row to row I choose to reap me again and again
Calluses built, nails broken, as I climb between levels
At the base, life wasn’t acknowledged as I lied with the devil
But he had no use for humans and he screamed, “fuck earth”
Hahaha, he pissed on nothing, and asked me...

A Multitude Of Curses
In the last few years
Of withering tears
We experienced Brexit
And the fragmentation, that came with it
Then the Pandemic, full forsworn
As we all became forcibly withdrawn
Then the war in the Ukraine
With the fear of nuclear intervention again
And the obvious worries, and realistic fears
As the worst of climate change nears
Along with the subsequent massive price rises
That has left black holes, and unwanted surprises
In now empty purses
And a multitude of curses

Off Your Head
To the decision makers
And morality breakers
Pretend your head
Is planet Earth
And imagine
If some of your inhabitants
Of your planet head
Be they internal, or external
Start uprooting bits of you
Digging, and drilling
Tipping noxious chemicals
All over
Cutting arteries
And changing their natural flow
And generally
Messing around with your head
Then come the wars
And bombs
And blood
Your planet head
Would soon be dead.......

Exhausted
I can hear the wind
Whistling quietly
Through my lightly opened window
As the cool breeze sweeps through
And gently cools my legs
Also reminding me
That it is time
To close my window
And pull down the blinds
Closing out the cold
And the outside world
Such as the sounds
Of early evening traffic
I am now left alone
In my silence
And my solitude
I switch on the radio
Not really listening
But appreciate the company
Then my ears pick up the words
'Climate change'
(The planet is tired)

Steam From Radiator
I sat on the porch as a flower bloomed on a beautiful spring day.
News of a shooting filled the air from within the living room.
My thoughts ebb and flow as the economy takes a turn for the worse.
Could a hurricane be the planet suffering from a flu caused by all the chemicals pumped out on a daily basis?
Buildings are giant tombstones that house the working class who are slowly dying with each fax that is sent.
We have elected fallible human beings to fix a world created by a divinity in whom there is no failure.

Guilty
Wheeling above
a lone gull cries
as a killer's reflection
stares back
from the rockpool at my feet
There is no life
only jagged grey plastic
with grubby green stubble
washed and unwashed
by each stinking tide
I barely recognise
the boy in short trousers
who caught blennies
and gobies here
kept crabs in a bucket
rushing to Mum
with a five pointed star
Only the rocks look the same
crouched sterner than naked time
pouring scorn on our madness
while the wind screams murder
into my eyes

The Republican;
Here we understood to be a soul
Who long ago gave a damn for justice,
But craved much more power and control
Than the Roman emperor Augustus!
So much it meant for him to be the boss
That no other determinant mattered.
And so with time, and the Christian cross,
They made all ethics brutally scattered.
Yet still they claimed the high ground moral,
Represented by president Trump,
Who's as deadly blanched as pacific coral,
Soaking, in a petrochemical dump.
And if you think that there's a future...

Treason of Speech
We are jacks of the sabotage trade
Who can't help but to destructively test
All that nature has lovingly made
Including the gift of language addressed
Toward all the things for granted we took
Like worthy schools of untainted thought
Paid forward with a sustainable book
Where ancient nuance was quickly forgot
Or banned by factions of malice and greed
Fostering stupid like it was a crop
That every ape didn't know it would need
Until encouraged to needlessly shop
The sick ideation markets of gain...
Not giving a damn for personal...
Who can't help but to destructively test

Prognostication
Guns and money have much evil to share
As enablers of a loveless bearing
And both betray the way they do not care
About how well we humans are faring,
In our short time above the soil,
Which we devote to the broadcast squabble
Of blighting well water for more oil
To grease us from birth to final hobble.
Spinning along, The Earth will not complain,
But pass along bad choice cost instead
Until everybody feels her pain
As premonition for what lies ahead;
Global glories in ruin and ash
As we would not forego the bombs...
