Snake!!!
Just a picture of the snake I caught at work. It's a black racer. Totally harmless to people, yet eat rodents and other (some harmful!) Snakes .
Yes, I let it go after a few minutes. It kinda blended well with my arm tatts. Lol.
No, I'm obviously not scared of any snakes. I was raised around them. My stepmother was the snake lady in the circus back in the day. I've held cobras even. What!

wind of lovE
trees were swaying from
head to toe intoxication
squirrels were hopping from top to bottom,
bringing evening and morning
a bygone and molded time was
trying to come back on track
flowers were scattered
on some blurred paths
after a long wait, the feet of the soft,
warm and bright sun had touched the land
the dreams settled in the eyes
last night had set out on a new ride
feelings dancing in
the colors of dawn were embracing
a soft memory was resting
on the shadow...

Sayonara Amnesty - with Lilliputian
Sayonara's amnesty tomorrow
with torrents of being one
obsessed by fading incognito
typhoons in nature's ecstasy
seeking one's eternal soul
with the pulse of the bamboo
whispering Sayonara's amnesty
To let go of every shadow
like the drifting autumn leaves
soaring in the air to the sky
breathing with the trees
the quietude of the universe
and the oscillating rhythm
in harmony with the scenery
with torrents of being one
obsessed by fading incognito
typhoons in nature's ecstasy
seeking one's eternal soul
with the pulse of the bamboo
whispering Sayonara's amnesty
To let go of every shadow

Mint
I won't be coy,
this isn't a hint,
currently all I grow is mint.
In the inner city,
gardens aren't pretty,
my neighbors don't like plants, just weed.
I want much more,
lush gardens by the score!
But fierce summer heat will always impede.
My sister grows a bounty on her porch,
but Oregon's heat isn't the Phoenix blowtorch.
Still, here in this desert apartment I know.
there are plenty more herbs I could currently grow.
like basil, rosemary, chives, cilantro
And do that I must,
if you know what I mean ...

Nature
I used to write about nature
in its truest sense –
the whisper of pine needles
heady scent of moss
rioting dandelions
and hooting owls
The way that dewdrops cling
to the border of kale leaves in the garden
and how the stars tell stories
of my magnificent smallness
I still perceive this poetry
all around me
But I’ve become consumed of late
with the nature of humans
untangling ill-fated attachments
to wounded avoidants
that painful natural cycle
I just can’t break
And...

The Sign In A Landing
And so you chose to land,
uncertain whether you'd be greeted
with softness or cruelty,
landing light
on the backside of my hand
I saw mandalas in your wings
and I spoke delicately to you
in thanks for the exaltation.

the only time
I’ve seen a hedgehog once, peering
out of the overcoat
of a homeless old man in chelsea, and doubtless
not his natural habitat ..

Soul of the Vulture
Any and all who hunt without regret or care
Is a poison against nature and better beware,
“Along with those who are masters of the accidental flame
Nature places upon them an unforgivable mark of shame,
“Overlooking those of the park ranger and forest firefighter
Unknowingly blessing them once in a lifetime of what they desire,
“But those who abuse and destroy nature with malice and neglect
May suffer a fate that they will regret,
“Through the judgment of ancient beings beyond comprehension
The soul of the vulture is summoned for its...

Fireflies in jars
I don't want fireflies in jars
to entertain me for hours;
beautifying my night
with their sparkling light,
Dispelling darkness for me
while their souls aren't free;
bringing in magical dreams
through their soft soothing beams.
These pretty luminous things
are meant to measure world
with their wings...

Beyond the Dial
When you look at their faces you can see something appealing
Under the crystal the hands that mark time just tick away
For whatever aesthetics or complications you may be seeking
It’s the inner workings that matter most each and every day
Beneath the surface you can witness a marvel of engineering
From balance wheels and rotors to jewels and gear trains
All this inside of a barrel where you can see a mainspring
I guess you can say all these tiny parts are the brains
Every single component is important for a timepiece to work
Imagined,...
