It Still Isn't You
Your disease brought me closer to a decision
i know now who my true love is
It still isn't you!
While your laying there, let me introduce you to my true love
Here she is
Look at her
Young, spry and gorgeous
You use to be special many many years ago
Now your laying here, given a few weeks to live
You did nothing all your life to help yourself
You should have given me my divorce when you still had the energy, years ago
You can't even lift your head up
See you at your funeral
i know now who my true love is
It still isn't you!

Husband to Wife
Middle of the night
She's having a hot flash
I dry her back
Always ask if she needs help
Drying the front
She declines
I tell her to remind me
To feel her up later
No answer
I'll attempt it anyway
She's got a great rack
She's having a hot flash
I dry her back
Always ask if she needs help
Drying the front
She declines
I tell her to remind me
To feel her up later
No answer
I'll attempt it anyway
She's got a great rack

maturity
uncertain fate frightens me
never afraid in my youth
spin the wheel of dreams
visions speak for me
in the unveiled future
turn the key and open a door for me
the misty water seems cast against me
guilty confession I feel like it's my fault
no matter the case
maturity is taking responsibility for yourself
tit for Tat is a kids' game and it has no place in love
broken-hearted. I broke my own heart trying to get even
death couldn't come sooner
hateful curse I hurt myself

O KAMA SUTRA
O Kama Sutra, be our guide:
teach us how man and woman 'ride',
all those positions known to you -
open them up within our view,
positions that are BEST for US
to achieve the best coitus!
So help this husband and his wife
best consummate their married life,
its pages we together read,
to follow where your wise words lead....

GET OUT OF MY LIFE
Let's take a moment to analyze, as we reflect upon the uncrossing, of our history and life 💖 together. 🤔 For sure I have been very grateful enough to know when it's over and done , between us but yet I truly wonder is it really over between us. 🤨. For it is true that we have so much history together, it would be a shame to watch it go away and never truly return. 😔 Yet I know it would be best for me and you, being that we are always fighting and arguing back to back and going at each other like cats and dogs. 🤨 Almost to the point of no return from...

Kids
Our ancient wooden coffee table has bite marks on every edge.I never saw the little buggers doing it, but they did.
The carpet, expensive all those years ago,is now worn and stained in many places.I never saw the little buggers doing it, but they did.
The walls and doors
have all got dings in them from someone.I never saw the little buggers doing it, but they did.
Now the home is empty and every piece of it tells a story.
I never saw the little buggers leave, but they did.

The Cycling Self
There is an
emptiness
that never
seems to…
empty…
itself
No matter
the groups
or therapies
encountered
to relieve
A pain
Always present
in some niggling
manner I loathe
because
I thought
I conquered it
Finding peace
in nature
and gratitude
amongst loved ones
can ease
the burden
of this…
Cross
BUT
It’s ever present
and always
carried
on my
Left
shoulder
...

indisposed
my nipples hardened
at the
unmistakable
sound of
madness
it takes
that some days
it takes
the fine shine
of unpredictability
to remind me
how
gentle
love
is

unmistakable

just rip it off already
she called me one night
outta nowhere
said she got my number from my aunt
{that's a whole other fucked up ball of wax right there}
& did I know how to reach him
she was desperate
any day now she was expecting
{...his...twins...}
not at all surprised
I sighed
listened to her tell how he'd tried to shoot her
shaking my head in disbelief
because even then...she stayed
abuse is a crushing iron fist
I get it

as she sobbed about how he vanished

Footsteps
( For David in memory of Lisa )
“Dying is a wild night and a new road.”
—Emily Dickinson
You are not alone
gestating in that cocoon—
fat from summer leaves of grief
I have not forgotten
her footsteps either—
mortar to a family of bricks
solidly weathered into their own
structure of wedded life
Our 41 year-old friendship
in an ultra-conservative city
excommunicating free thinkers...

Man
Man, the softness of your presence
like rain that awakens the aroma of the earth.
Your essence penetrates deeply
in the roots of my soul, nourishing.
The days are adorned by your scrumptious joy
where every moment shared is a feast for the spirit.
You are the warmth of the sun on winter days
a beacon guiding through the darkness.
You dwell in me not as a guest
but as an integral part of who I am.
Your smiles echo in my memories
drawing serene landscapes in my thoughts.
You are the calm in the chaos, the gentle...

Adulation Bombastry
In a daze of phlogiston and aether
and steampunk chunks of yesteryear vapor
I wrote love sonnets just to bequeath her
on a myriad of fine craft paper...
all for the castles in her maven sky
of woolgathering watercolor drops
the sunbeams brought to her passage bird eye
from lupine fields and fresh Aegilops.
She the canny nymph, and I the satyr,
who hoped she'd take a turn upon my flute
somewhere in my cavorting to mate her
or nurse the dew from her paradise fruit...
raised in that old Virginia for lovers
she already...
