it was never meant to hurt like this
Tell me, tell me
love isn't supposed
to hurt like this
I ache
and tremble
you've become the panic attack
my veins call home
but I'm not a junkie
for this love anymore
I'm not a junkie for you
Or at least that's what
I tell myself
once the shakes start
and I want to rip my skin to shreds
with these prolonged withdrawals
I don't need you, I don't need you
I don't need
...
you
If this is the way we hurt
I don't want it
I will forsake the...

The Art of Disappearing
Once, I clung to love like a drowning tide,
Grasping at hands that would slip, divide.
A fragile soul in a tempest’s embrace,
Always reaching, yet out of place.
Now, I stand behind walls of stone,
Avoidant, distant—safer alone.
Trust in humans? A fleeting breeze,
Here one moment, gone with ease.
Love was a ghost, a cruel charade,
A promise made, then quickly betrayed.
It called itself safe, it whispered "stay,"
Yet every time, it walked away.
So I learned the art of moving fast,
Of leaving first, of...

Love, a Vanishing Mirage
I have chased love like a wayward star,
Only to find it flickering from afar.
A shimmering glow, a whispered dream,
But never the haven it once had seemed.
I poured my soul into hands untrue,
Sculpted castles in skies so blue.
Yet each foundation, cracked and worn,
Left me adrift, tattered, and torn.
They spoke in tongues of forever’s embrace,
Yet behind soft words lay a hollow space.
A lover, an imposter, a master of disguise,
Leaving me drowning in echoed goodbyes.
I stitched my heart with fragile thread,
But...

Perpetual Seeker
I don’t know” is the challenge
a return to childlike innocence
“I don’t know, but I’ll find out” is challenge accepted
awakens the inner detective, researcher, puzzle solver
“To the best of my knowledge” is the reward
praying that my curiosity hunger is never satisfied,
that my thirst for knowledge never abates
that my honest lack of education
will forever supersede my pride
knowing everything, where’s the fun in that
a return to childlike innocence

Second Homecoming (Collab with summultima uma)
Clear revealing night
Where light is broken twice
To welcome now the stranger
that has made him risen
He opened another door
Out of which he gazed in visions
Strangulated by his own premonition
Expectations and inner competitions
Upon the barriers feasting
with twilight eating eyes
Onward resisting
Demons be driven
Being human is an oath
So he stared into their eyes
A multidimensional plane took him
for all eternity
For these eyes were never shut
Upon humanity feasting
with twilight eating eyes

The Bus Driver’s Game Pt. 2
In the clatter of the bus, where laughter rides high,
She steers through the streets as daylight drifts by.
With hands on the wheel and a smile like a net,
Oh, my heart skips a beat—she plays hard to get.
Her favorite color? A subtle gray hue;
Like clouds in the sky when they’re not sure what’s due.
And daisies all wild, with their quirky display—
Crazy little blooms that could brighten her day.
I whispered sweet plans while she counted her fare,
“I’d buy you some gifts! Just give me a dare.”
But she...

My k(night)
in the depth of my loneliness,
in the shadow of solitude,
i often muse
...of someone coming from
across the sky
on a shooting star
from a distant planet;
a man: beautiful,
sweet and shy,
kindness glowing
on his face
with deep dark eyes
for me to gaze
into our eternity,
to be lost forever
in the haze of serenity,
away from my miseries
away from my pain
where there is no loss...no gain...
transcending space and time
he carries me...

Too Late (Unpublished Draft #5; May 22, 2024)
I dreamt of you 3 nights ago,
It was so real that I was solemn most of the day,
You were here, so close, and so far away....
Time was limited,
You were scheduled to catch a bus,
That would erase any trace of us.
Again, you were unexpected.
Again, I was too afraid to leave.
If I was given a notice before you came,
Perhaps it would have been a different debate.
But even when dreaming, I was too afraid to leave.
All I could say...
It was so real that I was solemn most of the day,
You were here, so close, and so far away....

Seven
Six times I have laid my head on death-beds
if you have never felt the warmth of a corpse,
then please, leave your heart on library shelves
And then the seventh
words hollower than Auschwitz choirs,
her silence was the midnight rain
falling in pavement cracks ,
but I felt the breath on her lips
collected in my pillow jar,
forever yesterday, our love will always
be the lighthouse where not even
drowned sailors can reach
And then the eighth…
promises are merely rotten fruits
stowed in hearts of Summer orchards, ...

Castor and Pollux
Duality
Brotherhood
Protection…
And so it was that the twins
In their mother’s womb
One of a mortal father, the other of a divine
Came to have a special connection
Years later
When Castor, the mortal son was killed in battle
His brother Pollux asked his father Zeus to let them stay together
And Zeus, moved by his son’s request
Gave them an eternal bond
Placed them together in the northern sky
In the constellation known as
Gemini
