A Civil Discourse
So it starts with a welcome to country
Which for some reason doesn’t sound too welcoming?
And seems to be about ownership & possession
And hidden behind the words is skin colour & racism
And revenge & hatred for the sins of the past
And the mistakes of the past still seem to be repeating
Only now they’ve been twisted around to the other side
And it’s all about sides & which side people are on
And the bigotry of the past is replaced by a new bigotry
So who is worth more now - black, brown, yellow, white?
And how is it valued –...

WNBA spiel,
how he’d smash a woman
with his dominant skills,
think you’d know better,
doctorate in studies,
like Redd Foxx would say
you’re really a “BIGG dummy”,
in the college classroom
he knows better to chill,
a girl could slam his basket
with a very bitter pill!
who’s right or who’s wrong
in your home,
may depend
on the level of testosterone,
like a “real man”
as Donald Trump, ...

Just Plain Complaining
Ever wonder why the self-proclaimed "greatest nation on the planet" runs a financial structure that promotes total slavery?
Attending college to get a job where one can:
a) manage someone else's money
b) count someone else's money
c) build someone else's business into a more powerful entity
d) learn and enforce laws created by people long dead, or unaffected by the laws they have made
e) teach these laws to other people's children
f) "insert your 2 cents here"
The system attaches food, shelter, clothing, , benefits for one's...

A song of freedom and hope for everyone everywhere in the world
who feels oppressed by the misdeeds of others

pass me not
like a shadow
at your feet
to trample en route
to your high horses
or lofty mountains.
acknowledge me
before the sun burns out,
before the rocks cry out
beyond a shadow’s doubt.
i am the souls of black folk,
essential ebony
that melts the irony
of freedom wearing chains.
of pavements
choked on...

...to Look for America
A soft hallelujah escapes my lips
While I feel a nostalgia in my heart…
Perhaps it was those parades I marched all those years ago,
As we played our drums to Washington Post and other Sousa compositions,
While crowds of people applauded and waived,
A pretty girl waited for a soldier with open arms,
A mother cried for a son who didn’t come back,
A father who came home in a wheelchair to his walking toddler,
All those little flags and sparklers celebrating…
It’s difficult to find common ground in these Divided States of mind, ...
While I feel a nostalgia in my heart…
