Last Stand in Honky Land
We live in the country Reagan left
Slapped together in nineteen eighty three
By discount labor, clear cut forestry,
And additional ecologic theft...
Marketed like some Christmas free for all
At the edge of black Friday parking lots,
Those mephitic oceans for rolling yachts,
Surrounding the otherwise defunct mall
Unless...you are forever twenty one
Dating Orange Julius on a stick
Where monoculture is not yet undone
By some demographic Walmart trick
Snuck in under the Wonder Bread sun
Right in front of every gringo hick.

S.S. Tyrannic
Purpose, based on the nostalgic,
Necessitates dystopia,
And a posterior myalgic,
By way of gross myopia
Reinforced by grand old parties
Who only love the punishment
Of philosophical smarties
And their liberty, self evident,
Which rocks entire ships of state
Disturbing those in first class suites
Who ponder then a sinking fate
Where they must share their stolen treats
With those who work, but do not gloat,
As they try to keep the ship afloat!

Equanimity
Just one man wanting to get rich
Is an act of social sabotage
When Mother Nature is a finite bitch
Where wealth itself is only camouflage;
A test to check for that demerit greed,
Which is one of many character flaws
We separate from legitimate need
With good reason, and scientific laws,
Which prove that capitalism is bad;
Selling community by exclusion,
When community can be fairly had
By steady commodity extrusion...
Liberated from those marketing schemes
That willfully crush equality dreams!

Terraform
Thick wittedness is popular
And hubris makes the matter worse
Traducing all things globular
With a malice that the trolls rehearse.
Next you know there's another war,
About the price of axel grease,
Or an imaginary spore
Imperiling the common peace,
And thus the war god blood is up
With humors that are not a joke
Nor found inside the festive cup
Of grails used by common folk
Who realize with frugal cheer
That planets need not be austere!

Observing Things
Did humans through Caine and Abel introduce ourselves to death
Will we begin burning skeletons when there's no rain forest left
We're cutting down bodies at the same rate as trees
Wars leaving us on the battlefields like dead fucking leaves
Someone dreamt to build industry all along waterways, a poisonous dream
This dream was a nightmare declaring death to everything down stream
Logging again adding to the destruction, poisoning rivers and creeks
The eroding land left behind is still reaching it's peak
Topsoil washing away carrying with it...

Nose Candy Or Nose Ring
Bodies laid upon the battlefield as a many patch worked quilt
Our masters were proud of the loyalty and carnage, bearing no guilt
We wanted their possessions, while they wanted to control us
Our masters looked upon the continuous killing without an ounce of disgust
There were secrets being kept, conspiring between supposed opposing heads
Their destinies were forever entwined regardless of how many were reported dead
From their towers they watched tortures drawn out, along with head shots
Screaming warriors disemboweled, and left on the fields to rot ...

The Common Wealth
Nothing hones like a sonnet;
Heaven's paragraph of perfection
With it's golden stamp upon it
Invincible to abjection!
But there are those who would deride
This magnificent gift of old.
Their fluid wit seems to have dried
And been replaced by Tory mold.
That mold is the stoutest poison
To inculcate the common mind,
Against the universal foison
Universally perceived as kind,
Except, that the citizens will know it
When they've been lied to by a poet!

Compared To What
There has always been a gap
between the wages of our first educators
and the masters of professional sports
priorities tell us a lot
Historically the early learning teachers
were predominantly female
and a justification falsely made
these employees didn’t need much
As the high school and college experience
gained respectability and allure
the president, chancellor, dean
gained stature
Taken to another level as
administrators at higher institutions
controlled White Houses
became captains...

Inspiration
If breathe we must, let it be...debonair
For there has not been much of that lately
From the angry mouths of the un-stately
Who further foul, like cornscateous air,
An otherwise spectacular season
Of marvels and sensations everywhere
Poised to nullify the old nightmare
Of poor logistics and sabotaged reason,
All too often our de facto state,
Where conventional wisdom disagrees
That liberality is ever great.
Thus headway is made in slipshod degrees
For comprehension to accommodate
More letters than rhyme schemes and vertices.

Feuding like Hatfields & McCoys
Will get you nowhere
The robber barons laughing in their graves
Their vile spawn
Still playing divide and conquer songs

Reality Cheque
The train of thought must stay on it's rail
And brook not the slightest interference,
Or, see the span of attention fail
With co-occurring collapse of coherence
Whose structure relies on myriad truss
Which we foolishly think must be free
And somehow make it past all the fuss
The fiscal engineers fail to see...
For men's mental boots are not made with straps,
Making the upward pull a sideways stretch
From easy street dining to day old scraps
Suitable only for dogs playing fetch...
So fetch us now the support that we need
Down...

Sugarcoated women
Yes its hard to be a woman
Its not like the fairytales say
You cant depend on a man
To make all the worries go away
The fairy tales are wrong
We women are strong
We might need a shoulder to cry on
But it cant be anyone
Being a woman is hard
Yet people say its a fairytale
To have a man decide your fate
It shouldnt be that way
We women are smart and strong
Yet people tell us whats right and wrong
Be modest they say
Should it really be that way
"She was asking for it" they say
