ignition is just a spark

I wonder how many times I reached for the fire
already knowing I was going to get burnt
it's not something I ever acknowledged
...in the moment
like a child with a fistful of candy
I only knew I wanted it
never mind the pain that would be waiting
indulging my longing
...if only to feel alive
because what makes blood pump stronger than love...or passion
always understanding...of course...
though they might come in tandem
...they're not one & the same
but did it register before I leapt into the flame...
I wonder how many times I reached for the fire

I Will Remember Today
I think most
have walked the edge
the one separating is and isn't
a world of competing sensations
or the cloying tasteless grey
Some walk the edge as ritual
and a daily addiction
seeking reason
to pick up the burdens
of a lifetime of sin and regret
just carry it another mile
I have been this person
in many ways I still am
to live each day as the last
and in that final denial of humanity
something grows unforeseen

First Taste .
It’s midnight and winter and in the dark zero temperature two people aching to meet the other with a fire that burns their souls into a melting mess of legs bodies all askew almost at boiling point. Waiting on the explosion of their first dip of tasting each other. The increased heart rate beating as a snare drum resonated with breath sliding down necks as if was a net to keep this catch forever. Muscles tensing and throbbing and the satisfaction of losing all control with a rhythm of complete lust and trust that manifests into total climatic surrender.

so easy for me...

as the weak light of false dawn
hung wavering...noncommittal...
in the shadows of my darkened room
I stared up at the ceiling
knowing somewhere up there
...had to be a light
& I thought of him
how much...how very fucking much...
I only wanted to love him
just that
no expectations...possession...or obsession
I don't do pedestals...
perching his humanity beyond reach of reality
might as well balance on the tip of a blade
no...that's a guaranteed fall from grace

My body is getting heavy
Is the sky falling down?
I look around in horror
People are creating labyrinthic roads with their light steps
Making cute philosophies with their wet bodies
They always say:
This guy doesn't care if the sky collapse
This guy will outlive us all

I began to imagine the falling of the sky
The stars which hold our fate pour down like hailstones
and break into pieces
The moon rolls over in front of me
and fails to hide its dark side
And, there's no longer need to learn how to fly ...

Why is fake news?
Called fake news?
In the good ole' days
'We' used a more direct approach
It was simply called bullshit
And was oft used as a pronoun
Normally associated with certain individuals
Known for speaking untruths, aka lies
Such as 'bullshit Bob' etc
I did know someone
Who called themselves bullshit Dave
Or whatever his name was
But i kind of respected him for that
For his honesty
About his dishonesty
But then again
Maybe he was bullshitting
About being a bullshitter

sharing these liquor saturated sentiments
always provided I don't wake up & chicken out
reflect & regret ever penning them
locking them in the absolutely not vault
there's a few in there...never coming up for air
