Title: Rockhollow's Away-Morn
Six of Thirty
Unique Words: One Hundred and Seventy Five

We're parting - I'm anxious.
Duties in Exeter call, a promise of fun with dear friend
yet for me, firmly drenched in motherhood, it seems as if already ended.
Fresh rain paints the skin of you, both a noisy vandal in the night and the ingredient for growing success.
I acknowledge, in my subdued form, the progression it is gifting it's energy to.

Like Lust In The Chill Of The Grave
The men that find such beauty when it’s theirs,
Each one expects his sum for all he owns.
To walk and pace and call it forth by name,
While noting of each feature like his child.
Purveyors of the land on others’ backs,
These owners of the gullies, woods and vales.
The arteries that give drink to the fields,
Of long and winding rows so straightly plowed.
Corrections overseen by foreman’s hand,
Where script allots the hedge and masonry.
That show ahead where every tree will stand,
No curvature...

And Sometime Since
Pine Bluff Beach, Arkansas.
Highway 63 runs through
just beneath the waters
southbound.
The Chili's on Olive street
one of the oldest still glows
above the sand.
Nabil leans against the banister
surrounding the veranda deck
That runs along a pier and out
upon
the Bay of Monticello.
Diamond-hinted ripples
play in the morning
furrows of the
shallow bight.
Its an awful thing
to see someone you love--
someone who was...

The Humans Versus the Humanoids of Earth
One day after the death of the Methuselah tree...
Black circuits
at the roll of a metallic blue Earth into the halo nexus brunt of flambé flares,
auroras injected the upper atmosphere in emerald and chrysanths...
The world condensed for the Five Days of the Green.
And no politic could hover above its mechanisms,
only read the previous hour from a petrified wrist watch.
The marvel storm dissipated throughout the entry wind
of two-story bristlecone...

Chernobyl
A nuclear disaster, in a town called Chernobyl;
An odor-less killer, the invisible force.
As the radiation escapes, from the crumbling reactor,
We must cool it down, before it blows.
Evacuate Pripyat, the employee’s town,
The town of 35000; first on the list of infected people.
No warnings to the town folk, no evacuation,
The town’s men in the know, know the town is in trouble.
People bathe in the sun’s rays, soaking up the sun,
Whilst the dizzy and sick, fall with blackened skin.
But the only burn you'll get, is a...

As the Land Beneath Us Crumbles
As the Land Beneath Us Crumbles
A massive earthquake rips open the land across the Midwest.
Resident’s from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania are not feeling so blessed.
What would cause an earthquake of this size here in the Midwest is anyone’s guess.
Take the guessing out of it, it’s due to the land beneath us being stressed.
Injecting liquid at high pressure into subterranean rocks has caused this mess, but the fracking companies won’t confess.
You will have to hook them up to a lie detector and watch them fail the test.

The Ship
The Ship
Sitting in my office reading a book,
thinking it’s time to learn how to cook,
and maybe learn how to write some lines that have a strong hook.
I notice my reflection in a mirror, I hate how I look.
My mind likes to drift off so I tend to ramble on.
It can go on all night, even until dawn.
It would be nice to have a pet fawn,
and maybe a best friend named Shawn.
But having just a white friend makes me racist, so I need a friend named Hassan,
who’s an executive at the company Exxon.
An Arab who works in the oil industry...

LISTENING (6-22-92, Galveston Island, Texas)
i listen
to the liquid
voice
of my lyrical
imagination
as the residue
of my
fading dreams
filters slowly
into view
greater
wordless wisdoms
waft vaguely
through
my head
as my ears
strain
to concentrate
for further clarity
out of an
even deeper
inner stillness
innately
submerged
therein

Colors pt. 7 Nightfall
Nightfall
The sun has descended and given way to the night
bringing with it one hellish fight.
The storm clouds are now overhead and are unleashing their furry.
The rain feels like needles pressed against my skin and the wind is whipping so hard my vision is beginning to become blurry.
I’ve abandoned my home on the beach that I worked so hard to create.
The man was right, if I stayed there I wouldn’t have survived to see the sun fully rise at eight.
The sea has risen and is flooding the beach.
I’m standing back off the beach witnessing the...

Colors pt. 2 An Island
An Island
The hot yellow sand burns against my skin
as my eyes look around scanning the area with my mind wondering where to begin.
The land around me consists of sand and dirt.
A real hell hole for an introvert.
There are trees scattered around but not enough to provide any real shade.
So, this seems to be the trade,
a big blue ocean for a small, yellow…
Island.
A hand presents itself to me in an offer to help me up to my feet.
I’m lifted back to my feet hoping I’m able to find something to eat.
My stomach is rumbling and I...
