Shattering Stereotypes: A Journey of Healing, Resilience, and Determination
My journey has been an uphill battle, as I continue to face assumptions and stereotypes based on the profession I enjoyed for decades. My admiration for the women I worked with and the stage, still remains even though I have not performed on Big Daddy's stage since 2005, when Hurricane Katrina devastated my world and threw me back home which sent me into a deep depression with PTSD. It took me ten+ years of soul-searching and introspection to heal myself and confront the demons that forced me to leave home at 14.

Can't kill Bill
It's too long to be a limerick so perhaps a ditty if you will
If you will just be still like trying to catch a fish with a rod and the reel
And if you're ever in a pickle that isn't sweet then think dill
Which is what you'll surely get if you ever mess with Bill
There lives an old man and his name is Bill
he's got a big damn boy and that man's name is Will
And if bringing them some trouble is really how you feel
You better pack a sack lunch and sharpen up your skills
but first sit down and write yourself out of will
Cause you think that you can and...

We can go through cancer, my dear!
Don't give up, my dear sunshine;
your pain is like a knife to me,
your weary face expecting times,
when healthy you will be.
You are a hero on a quest
to regain your cozy smile,
and may your eyes find rest
but because they are alive;
beyond the lengthy struggle,
when each second is eternal,
hopeful trouble; gently huggle
me, in my love maternal.
Love that won't give up;
for we will find the root...
when the horror stops
you'll win a fresh route... ...

By Any Means Necessary (Happy Birthday Martin Luther King, Jr.)
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mama, I know why the caged bird really sings
When the mind as an offering hears sovereignty echoed from the mountains let it ring
From the cradle of birth is to give authority to our mental dreams
Our deferred aspirations we seek to the highest of our esteem
How can I learn to fly when my heart cannot even walk
Animosity, resentment is always found in wagging tongues who doesn’t know how to intellectually talk...

Today May Get Fatey
It was the kind of day you step in front of traffic, then dare fate to fold you up in newspaper headlines.
Oh dreams came true alright, but you should have dreamed about not being a foolhardy dreamer; who can know these things.
Your mind is an ashtray full of stumped out intentions, it’s overflowing and starting to look like a barrel cactus. And you’re in just the right kind of mood, to burn another one down.
Your eyes slowly break open and you realize how much you look forward to that double shot of communal antacid and how much you dread pouring yourself...

the cause of love
Eventually you will come to understand that love heals
everything, and love is all there is.—Gary Zukav
it matters not
what kind of spot
you occupy
under the sky;
there is a hope
for those who grope
to rise above
the shadows of
their darkest fear.
can you not hear
the gentler voice
behind the noise:
come unto me
and be set free;

See You Next Fall
i have a cold
of course I do
my winter break just started
It's a bad one
my usual dainty sneezes
replaced by giant WA-CHOOs!
that make me sound
like a 300 pound man
with plumbers butt
mostly inside yesterday
mind going to hell
cold sunny day
perfect for basketball
my body's not up to it
my mind needs it
fourth shot bounces hard off the rim
I shouldn't run after the ball
but fear of something
fat
age ...

Shield Maiden
a Valkyrie fighting for life
an indominable spirit
that still knows fear
thinking you're all alone
fighting demons on your own
wielding a sword with savagery and grace
in a battle lost many times before ...

My Life Through My Eyes... (Proverbs)
I am stiff, sore, my ankle is a tad swollen, but not as painful as it was hours ago.
I surprised myself on 11-06-22 with sheer determination after fracturing my right ankle that resulted in a medical leave of absence for six weeks from my Nursing Administrative duties, and my second place of employment as a Behavorial Health Counselor, the setback to run in Ohio, a marathon, which I have not missed in years, and physical strain and pain when training for the New York marathon under limited mobility of a leg.
Then the physical therapy sessions three times a week,...

Into The Wind I Go...
I have paid my dues
This Sunday come rain or shine, sneakering up once again pounding pavement in my pink Nike shoes
Running against myself not against the wind
Broken and repaired to see if sheer determination can do this once again
The strain, the pain, the agony to walk again, the grueling physical therapy
Was it for this day for me to see
If perseverance truly pays off or a dream denied
As I stand among my running peers at the starting line
Freighted to move
Because in my mind, I am running with no pace, my own glory,...

How To Juggle
I’m not pulling your leg, don’t juggle with eggs!
The yolk was on me when I tried such a feat,
I gave it my best shot, but those eggs had me beat.
But juggling is fun and a cool thing to do,
It’s good for your fitness, and improves your brain too.
I’m sure someone like you could quite easily do it -
It’s just throwing and catching, that’s all there is to it.
You can juggle with clubs, or you can juggle with rings,
You can juggle with practically all manner of things.
You can juggle with words if you’re writing...

My Story
I didn't choose to be born
I didn't choose my traits
I didn't choose my circumstances
What chose was fate
The first born, perfection
The second, a celebrated son
The third, another girl
The forth, a miracle son
Genes decide colouring
Genes decide character
Genes decide temperament
But I was shaped by you
Encouraging sibling betrayal
Rewarding the snitch
Thrashing the guilty
Thriving on power
