Alone with these abandoned thoughts
Crazy with trepidation about large crowds
Madness broke my mind a long time ago
Now I contemplate sin multiple times a day
Fragile dreams scattered along the highway
Drunk with a desire that never trusted me
Kept the brain strung out with false illusions
Only to tempt away the guilt festering inside
I’m an introvert that loves being in solitude
Smitten with my muse who inspires words
Until the bottle whom I was sleeping with
Decided that she wanted complete control

Celestial Light
Planets aligned like mine
At a different time
Same…inclination(s)
Tour guide
Life guide
When I thought
Spirituality
Belonged…elsewhere
Your patience
Kindness
Acceptance
Encouragement
Showed me
That celestial unity
Community
Spirituality
Resides on a
Much lower plane
I couldn’t be more
Grateful
That you reached
Out to me
From DUP
My found family

The Guiding Light
He went for his daily walk like he did every morning around 9:00 am
Today was Xmas
The weather was overcast with some light flurries
His wife was home and they will be spending Xmas with her parents today
His mother died 10 years ago
He hasn't spoken to his father since the time of her passing
They haven't seen eye to eye for many years prior, but once she died, they stopped talking
His mother was a caring, full of life individual that was taken to early
He wasn't the religious type
He would never go and visit her in the cemetery, which was only...

Life Lessons pt 3 (Love Bites)
My sister and I have been in the Uk for over three weeks, and we had two more to go. We learned that the train was called the tube, the bathroom was called the loo, and that the best way to have fish and chips was wrapped in paper, with salt and vinegar.
This particular day I was antsy. I was the oldest out of the five girls so there were times I wanted space. My sister and I were considered Irish twins. (Mom could not wait or was it Dad)
I brought this up because being the oldest at fourteen and having three thirteen-year-olds and one eleven-year-old left in a flat...

melancholy's child
sorrow in melancholy hues
rains gently within my soul
filling little indigo pools of sadness
I sit and reflect on this stillness of being
solemnly I collect my thoughts
and write them down in my diary of pain
within pages of memory, my heart awakens
to feel again...
after the emptiness took hold
tiny flowers of regret
bloom in my shade
I look at them fondly
they prove I'm alive
I ached over the years
but no tears kissed my face
not in touch with my emotions
my melancholy lake was frozen ...

Breaking with White Solidarity
I am White, and racist
by systemic socialization
as well as personal ignorance—
it's not something I chose
but a cultural privilege
I was born into—and learned;
thus, cannot fully understand
the impact on Black Americans
this liberates me
from defending, deflecting, and denying
the racism that exists—
especially in me!

Why do I Write ?
The notion of pens and paper in my pocket strikes a chord.
When I first started writing I actually carried a small pad and wrote long hand.
Then with some praise from fellow DUP members the poems came fast and furious.
There was no time for long hand, it was anything electronic to do the deed.
But why was I writing?
I was encouraged by a nephew who thought I should write.
He thought novel, I thought narrative poems.
The rest is history ...
There have been close to 1900 poems since autumn of 2013.
Not including the 700 I deleted for...

what did you do to keep sane...
2020 was a game changer
in so many ways
people lost jobs...homes...loved ones
addictions developed...grew...blew up
as did the world...every direction violence erupts...
times are no longer what they were once
overnight silence became deafening
so loud it overwhelmed
no more time face to face...
...everyone locked away
...life in solitary confinement...
as streets became emptied
and nature tentativlely unfurled...
hesitant to step out of safe havens
into human-occuppied places
...surreal became normal...

A THOUSAND APOLOGIES
PLEASE
It's not about
right or wrong,
or contextual
clarity or the
projection of
metaphorical expressions
missing being understood.
It's not a
matter of semantics
or who said what...
it's about apologies
and a new invitation
to dialogue and
build on pluses...
this is a kneeling request
from an aching soul.
Okay?

Tears in my eyes
The elders say that we have the ability to manifest, that which you can see and feel, if you can only believe in your faith. 🙏 THAT we all are connected in one way or another.. 🤨 For sure it's strange how we are connected by a force feeding us emotions, from far away in a destination that we've never been before in our lives. For I woke up this morning 😔 with tears in my own eyes not really knowing WHY... Yet I felt it necessary to write these unspoken words, ✍️ down to someone some where some place needs to hear, these words of encouragement and support...

Celebrity Dream Sequence
Like a coniferous willow
the cedar loves to droop
because that's its peccadillo
like Paltrow with her Goop.
And she as well sports dangle limbs,
as a fine lady will,
enough to warrant Gwyneth hymns...
if she would pay the bill.
But her rare beauty I would praise
as much as any tree
if by some luck she might upraise
her torso kit for me.
And then proceed to throw it off
to give my hands a chance
to take advantage of that doff,...
