melancholy's child
sorrow in melancholy hues
rains gently within my soul
filling little indigo pools of sadness
I sit and reflect on this stillness of being
solemnly I collect my thoughts
and write them down in my diary of pain
within pages of memory, my heart awakens
to feel again...
after the emptiness took hold
tiny flowers of regret
bloom in my shade
I look at them fondly
they prove I'm alive
I ached over the years
but no tears kissed my face
not in touch with my emotions
my melancholy lake was frozen ...
rains gently within my soul

the difference between prospective and perspective is all in how you look at it
ballerina costumes could be skimpier
but for opera singers probably not
naked rhythmic gymnastics
would be more fun than just watching
ribbons fluttering
but naked Shot Put
not so much
staring at the back of the limo driver's head
is way better
Than staring at the neck of the guy who drives the crosstown bus
and watching Salma Hayak bending down to pick up whatever she just dropped (front or back)
is more entertaining than watching any guy you know (or I have ever known)
doing whatever he does best
...

i want to go to the Taj Mahal
to forget mistakes I've made
stupid things I said when i was 20
the job I was fired from
my inability to crochet
the man I should have married
perfect symmetry
is a treasure
the Taj Mahal has it
against a polluted sky
in a strange country
a billion people
many too hungry
to harbor neurotic thoughts
a former coworker
insufferfably pretentious
dismissed the Taj
as the world's most ornate body bag
he had many other stupid thoughts ...
