Woke Life
You'd have to be asleep
Not to realize
You have been awake
Since birth.
Not to realize
You have been awake
Since birth.

If you believe
If you believe death sets you free
That's not morbid...not to me…
This is your philosophy
of life...and living…
death and forgiving
Should it not be the same
as mine...will not make it less divine…

How did you get so strong?
"I try moving things that are impossible to move."
How did you get so intelligent?
"I try thinking things that are impossible to think."

Snoozing
You have to be
Your own alarm clock,
Ding-a-ling,
If you are ever going to realize
You are already awake.

Shoveling Snow with Buddha
( after Billy Collins)
He shows up from out of nowhere,
of dazzling blue once the storm passes by.
Approaches with a smile, eyes of crescent moon,
offering a hand of strength and of mirth,
as honest labor of brotherly love.
I could be overthinking an uncommon sight
added to an otherwise common act.
Besides, there’s nothing out of place
when it comes to Winter at this time of year,
with my neighborhood inundated in white powder.
And I don’t question his abbreviated attire,

Yes Knot
I tied my ego
into a knot
with altruism
so my pride
would be tied
to service to others
and because
I could not annihilate
my ego.

The Moment ( For Ram Dass )
We're all just walking each other home.”
~ Ram Dass
Here is the moment—
beautiful and terrible:
yet, there is nothing flawed
across its wildest span of seconds—
only existence reliving
a karmic form of now;
but, tulkus who choose
their return have learned
Love is the fullness
we initially mistake as food

Let it All Be (instrumental by Mors)
I'm out here living this life
Its the only thing I know
Living it right not living it twice
Time ticks on to a close
Even if I could not understand it
I'm a man now but couldn't have planned this
Fill up my cup and Imma tipping it sideways
spread it on out, yeah, I'm riding it longways
Till it come back round
Still, I stay with the fat sound
Knocking at my door like they looking for more
Like I took it like a whore like I cook it in my core, yeah
-
I wanna be free, words I weave
I let it all be and ...

Whole(some)heartedly
The 21st century" is a 20th century thing to say
when we are decades deep into the 3rd millennium.
If we don't embrace the present we will be killed by the pasts that have been prologue to calamity.
We should not need any more martyrs, because the life-positive examples have been set and all we need to do now is follow them
whole(some)heartedly.

Two Parts of the Hole
Where is the comfort?
where is the joy?
Seems
so long they've been away.
Far Away.
Seems so long so long so
long.
So long since the love of a
partner.......
and now, a dead child, a dead
child.
(I heard what I said. My child is
dead).
Joy. Comfort. Comfort. Joy.
seem
no longer to be options, at
least
not being so the way...

Lucid Dreaming
I didn't wake up,
You fell asleep
Into the living dream,
Aware of shared reality
That you can control,
Infinitely,
Just not completely.
