The Song of Babylon the Great
- The Song of Babylon the Great -
A Song in Celebration of the Goddess-Queen Semiramis
Noble Lady of Babylon, clad in soft silks of scarlet and gold,
I sing of thy unearthly beauty, celebrated in epic songs of old.
Noble Lady of Babylon, astride thy red dragon steed,
Tramping across the desert, causing the sands to bleed.
Noble Lady of Babylon, lift aside thy veil so all may see,
The perfection of thy face, more fair than an angel may be.
Noble Lady of Babylon, pass thy gold cup unto me,
That I may drink of thy blessings, so knowing that I am free.
When Babel was more than just a tower,
Thy beauty and thy will were the queenly power!
Semiramis, goddess of a thousand faces,
Thou were the author of countless divine graces.
Who named thee harlot, named thee wrong!
So, Queen of Babylon, for thee I sing this song.
Noble Lady of Babylon, clad in soft silks of purple and gold,
I sing of thy wondrous charms, celebrated in epic songs of old.
Noble Lady of Babylon, bearer of pure fruitful seed,
Thy soil gives forth its’ bounty, fulfilling everyone’s need.
Noble Lady of Babylon, baptize me in the eternal sea,
That when I rise from its’ depths, I shall rise up with thee.
Noble Lady of Babylon, Mistress of Heaven is she,
The Queen of lovers and warriors, none can make her to flee.
Babylon, oh Babylon, a mystery thou art, verily unto all.
Strange and magical are thy ways!
Babylon, oh Babylon, thy might shall not ever totally fall.
Thou shall endure for al the days!
Thy eyes hold the light of the stars of night’s gown,
They hair is spun from the sun’s own rays.
They people forget now, the tales of thy great renown,
Thy power is such that eternally, it stays.
Babylon, oh Babylon, the gods rejoice at they tender smile.
Thy laughter doth cause men to weep!
Babylon, oh Babylon, we give ourselves to thy every wile.
Thy whims are the only laws to keep!
Thy arms are strong, for thou were not ever weak,
Thy lips are moist, with the wine of blood.
Thy ears hear every prayer, of those who humbly seek,
Thy hands could stem the tides of a flood.
I sing of the Lady of Babylon, whose passions are raging flames.
She is the sender of fantastic dreams.
I sing of the Lady of Babylon, goddess of a thousand names.
Her river is the source of all streams.
Babylon, oh Babylon, for thee falling stars must wait!
Babylon, oh Babylon, Babylon the Great!
