What He Saw
Soft petalled eyes
winking at me,
broadcasting
wisdom
and smiling so free,
what message
sends this petticoat hand
ribbons
and Baby Jane
tap dancing land?
Why would you offer
yourself to my den,
how could you
open yourself to
this friend?
What makes this
the safest of safe?
How could you even
start out of that gate?
Trust
like a demon
ineffable soul,
begging forgiveness
an osage turned bowl.
Lay down your head
as we watch
the TV,
your head on my chest
asleep on my knee.
All the world
ragged
and wiped
of its charms,
here there is healing
in Little Girl arms.

Lovely and charming energy....
Would it be alright to ask....what you meant in this line?
*an osage turned bowl
(I'm just curious and interested, is all)
(Please ignore query, if irksome at all...:-)
Pen on, poet!
Love the effort, thanks for sharing.
Cheers

Good question....I turn wood and have a begging bowl made out of Osage, a yellow hearted wood that is excellent for making martial arts weapons.... in the hands of a drunken master, such a bowl would be both a vessel for peace and a weapon for war. My view of Little things is that respect is due for who a person is, as the material use of the bowl is varied in its practicality due to the material of its construction. A young heart can be an old soul.

Wow.
Fantabulous response, I say!
I am...BOWLED over, to say the least.
Do so like that idea of....the view of the little things....for, I believe we gain success in the small things, sometimes (without sweating any nit-picking)
You dig, poet?
Thank you for your patience to respond to my query :-)
Cool runnings for ye, poet!
Please do keep penning, ok.
Peace

Ps. And yes, agreed.
A young heart can indeed be an old soul.
Right on!
