Distance

Awaiting at the window
for something that's inexistent.
Light breezes of spring
whispering the same words.

The questions just keep repeating.
I'd like an answer for once.
The blinding rays of the sun
were bright enough to hide the truth.
If it were dark would it be any different than it is?
Maybe this is something to protect me from what I don't want to know.

How much longer can it last,
before the tragic or happiness.
Your disbelief is the core.
It's poison calling you're veins home.
With each piece falling further away, I knew.
The parts involving me would too dissolve.

Reality hits then tears begin to leak from my eyes.
This lovely pair separately walking the other way in hopes of something better,
but is there such a thing?
With each step feeling heavy I decided to turn around.
There she was staring back.
We couldn't do it nor could we be together.
This distance is so torturing.

If I could hold you again "would that be okay?" I'll ask.
Something, anything, I'm desperately seaching for her.
I'll do anything from here just as long as she returns to me.
The lovely face I knew has all but faded.
Lonely and distressed, her face is all I see.
Wishing for nothing, I don't need anymore.

If these hands can't catch before she crashes.
Everything fragile about her will scatter.

Oh it's so torturing.
With her just right there.
I don't know how much longer I'll last.
Isn't there another way,
For me to allow her to see how much.
Just how deep I fell for her...
