The Reclaiming
Forty two years after her death
she reclaimed what was hers
it wasn't easy
she needed a medium
a vessel
someone open
after forty two calendar years of searching
she would find what she was looking for
the dreams started
I could hear an English woman's voice
it was faint and grew louder
until it was undeniable
then, the conversations began
she needed something
and I could help her
in turn she would help me
she told me she passed before her wretched husband
she had said she wanted to be buried with her watch
her Longine's 18kt gold watch
she had gotten it on a trip in 1945
she loved it, the watch was special
almost magical her evil husband knew this also
when she passed
he took it off her wrist before she was buried
that was his final act of treachery
weeks later he would have a stroke
he died eight months after that
in a hospital, alone
that fact did please her
her spirit loomed over him the night he passed
she told me how scared he was
how afraid he was of death
and how she laughed
when his spirit saw hers
she walked him to the gates of hell herself
pushed him into fire, and watched a bit as his soul screamed
then her search for me and her Longine's watch began
she met a spirit who knew a lost soul
who knew a guide who knew a medium,
me...
the watch was sold at an estate auction
with some research I found the company who ran it
they couldn't give me any information
to much time had passed and records were damaged or lost
I got my crystal out
I would use scrying to find the watch
Miriam the English voice in my head
would also help with the scrying
I will receive the vision
she will travel into it
less guess work that way
a pounding headache signals success
Miriam's excitement is almost a migraine
forced to lay down and let the energy pass
we know where the Longine's watch is
its in an antique shop in Ann Arbor
when my headache subsides I call the shop
they say they have a watch that matches my description
they tell me its eight thousand dollars
I make an appointment to see it
now about getting that money
Miriam has a plan
we will scry again but this time into the future
we will do what everyone always talks of doing in the future
we will get the lottery numbers
only wagering enough to win the eight thousand
you cant mess with the balance
if we were to win more something karmically bad could happen
once we have money in my hand
we waited for the appointment day
driving to Ann Arbor hurt
Miriam was so excited
my brain felt like it had a lightening storm going on
I couldn't wait to get this watch
once at the antique shop
the headache passed as soon has Miriam got to see her watch
it was in the glass case
a shiny dainty gold ladies dress watch
the woman pulled it out
I put it on our wrist
every hair on my body stood up
I didn't remove it, I gave the lady the money
we drove home in an ethereal mood
everything was lighter her burden was heavy
yet it has been released
she had reclaimed what was hers
I always wear the Longine's watch
Miriam voice isn't as loud as it once was
she is heading towards spiritual peace, soon she will rest
then another lost soul will send me on another quest
a day in the life of a medium
never a dull moment
never truly alone
the spirit world calls my mind home
she reclaimed what was hers
it wasn't easy
she needed a medium
a vessel
someone open

she would find what she was looking for
