I wish you were here

You were supposed to take me fishing one more time
I couldn't wait to see you
Your daughter in law is about to give birth
To your fifth grandchild
But you left this morning
Grandpa I wanted you to stay
You were just lying in the kitchen
I loved you so much
Remember you kept telling me boring stories
But I sat there and listened because I idolised you
So much
Now nana won't stop crying
She thinks it's her fault
It wasn't anyone's fault
It was a heart attack
I hope you died quickly
I just wish I got one more time
To tell you I love you
Nana keeps picturing your body
On the floor
You were just lying dead
Even uncle Iain was crying
And he's the most masculine person
I know
He loved you
I loved you
We all loved you
I will say goodbye at your funeral
Next week
And then I
Just might join you in death
I love you grandpa...

(This is a true story about my grandpa dieing
This morning and his funeral is next week)
