Avoiding Stasis

Flaws in space and time
That'll let us travel
Flaws in the 'Grand Design'
Laws that let us break our chains

Break our chains and fly
It's not about viewing life from on high
Or touching the sky,
It's about going beyond our sky

Sentience needs sentience
We can't continue to live alone
Continue to cower at home
Putting out tentative tendrils
Forever the agoraphobe

We need to take risks
Invest ourselves in a world,
A world that extends beyond our world

We who are so small
squabbling over our infinitesimal dogmas and ideals
Effective non-sensicalities
In an existence born of because

We must keep moving
Perfection, an unreachable goal
Akin to eternity
A goal we all, if not consciously, pursue

As a species
We need to share and expand,
As an observer
Stasis is a state
That isn't worth watching.
