Condemned
Hail Jury, Hail Judge
You said I did it
That I killed him
I did not do it
He did it in his own
He swallowed his own poison
He lied to me
He said he loved me
But I caught her with him
They were on my bed
They were committing adultery
That is a sin isn’t it?
It has been said
Cut off the hands that offend you
Poke out the eyes that see
and sin with lust
do not steal nor covet
Your neighbour’s wife
You should set me free Judge
For I have done justice
More than you have ever done
I have carried out the commandment
Of the highest power, God
You just sit there and ho-hum
You the judge and the jury
Have condemned me to die
To be shot with deadly poison
You have mis-carried your justice
For the guilty you have defended
The victim you have condemned
You said I did it
That I killed him
I did not do it
He did it in his own
He swallowed his own poison
He lied to me
He said he loved me
But I caught her with him
They were on my bed
They were committing adultery
That is a sin isn’t it?
It has been said
Cut off the hands that offend you
Poke out the eyes that see
and sin with lust
do not steal nor covet
Your neighbour’s wife
You should set me free Judge
For I have done justice
More than you have ever done
I have carried out the commandment
Of the highest power, God
You just sit there and ho-hum
You the judge and the jury
Have condemned me to die
To be shot with deadly poison
You have mis-carried your justice
For the guilty you have defended
The victim you have condemned
