Be gone
Exorcise
the demons of potential
and erase
the remembrance of flight
Allow me
the therapy of apathy
so the unreciprocated
lust towards substance
can end
Too much
is this burden
of the in-between
and I wish not to rise again
above the flames
Let my last reserves
be fuel
let me be consumed
The backlash
of inspiration
is when momentum stalls
in the shadows of immortality
where the infinity of ambiguity
reigns
and not even darkness
can be grasped
let alone light
Give me
the lobotomized
pleasure of sensation
The neon lit
orgy of material
I
want to
enjoy the television enough
to no longer bore my peers
with philosophy
let alone poetry
the demons of potential
and erase
the remembrance of flight
Allow me
the therapy of apathy
so the unreciprocated
lust towards substance
can end
Too much
is this burden
of the in-between
and I wish not to rise again
above the flames
Let my last reserves
be fuel
let me be consumed
The backlash

Re: Be gone
Think I'll just say: great poem, man.
Not great as in 'oh what great weather', I mean like the bigger, ancient great. It's a Roman column of a poem.

You're one of those poets that is completely unpredictable while in your own still. And i absolutely love that about your writing. It's what makes you so interesting to read. I can really relate to this poem, and that being said, Never Stop Writing :)

baron
last two stanzas made me realize how i have
missed you and your poetry. honest critique.
i dont think so. if at all, it has to wait.
And then...
'Too much
is this burden
of the in-between
and I wish not to rise again
above the flames..'
loved it. Understatement and yet, there is
no other way to put it.
And...
'let me be consumed'
Perfect. Fucking perfect.
Keep bleeding, baron.

You opened with a slap in the face and closed with a kick in the crotch. YAY!
You're evolving so dang fast, LB, it's like, this is really kickass stuff. I like the story you're telling here, weary of the intangible, ready to sink into reality, even though that's wearying, too.
Again, YAY!
