letter to the woman who prefers walking away
my woman says
i am just way different
than her and that i should try,
be more and think 'bout things
that are real, like bills
talks about
the fire that feeds the body
and whatnot
damn me
for all i seem to think about
is the fire that burns within
that keeps us alive in
the harsh winter of
life and the real thing, for me,
is love as somehow i had this
notion that things real don't
glitter or can't be held like
dreams and god
but yes, they
say we are different; though

arrest their flow
see it twirl brine
shut down the sea
let the waves die slow
listen to the howl
of ageless secrets
hold the breeze back
watch the flocks collide
headlong without a sound
cover the sun
in a blanket
black as
the habits of nuns
hear the neigh of
the four horses
watch us
wilt
on our earth
allow us to
seep
light set in the motion
within the darkness
celebrate
as we perish in poetry
essence...

totem
i woke up last night
with distant bells ringing deep within my head
the strange silhouettes swaying in the flimsy mist
above the unfamiliar terrain and the strong wind
blowing across from east did not help much
albeit tangible and strikingly familiar
like theosophical discussions
the deserted tube station
of my mind was still inhabited by
the stoic robust melancholia hanging in thick
like slow moving origami birds made up of metal
rusted, pre-world war but acting like dark matter
soaking the very last shards of light ...

sitting under an striped umbrella by the pool
i wonder why i am sitting there in the very first place
then about the point in wondering [if any]
afterwards i blink
try to yawn audibly and fail
chew on the bland gum
then i
try to burp
move my shades [by puckering my nose]
stop breathing for some time
raise my head
try to stare at the sun
squint hard
start to move my legs sideways [slow at first and then with a viciousness]
whimper [in a moment of induced whim]
let a trickle of...

in the jarring interjecting the floating
in the constant ebb and flow-high and low
in your cynicism of my lucid dreaming where
we dwell in dreamspace with a familiar face
in the large drops of tear that don't fall and
the suppressed grins which bloom-overlapping
in your mistrust-in your inherent doubt-coherent incoherence
in those nervous half smiles every time i open myself up showing
the pulpy core a little bit more without any sensory control-dreamlike
in your sharp question marks on occasions where you fail to penetrate the mass
of the solidified...

wish you a beautiful year
pardon me as i roll the second bottle
on the floor after the last swig
pop a couple of blue ones
dangle my feet down
smile my priceless

fair enough
you tell me i have been mean to you
hurt you
you point your finger in the direction of
the decadent heaps of mistakes in my wake that wipe
my footsteps from the frozen sands of
liminal time
you are right
of course
when my silver cord
gets severed and i drift away ...

heaves sighs every now and then
after an eon of stasis
works long hours
gliding through
the mazes with
manic gusto
shows grit
immense
gumption
saves money then buys
things that in weeks
begin to smell like
cobwebbed memories
within familiar
corners in the
memory lane
came here to become
a starlet one day
do meaningful art
akin a brown bunny
or may be a la
hedy lamarr
ah that cliched
cliche of a life
my poor love
still here
...
after an eon of stasis

gliding through

tonight
is the night
of our rendezvous
neath the gibbous moon
in the midst of awestruck goblins
and sparkling cherubs floating fleeting
in the placental incandescent silverdust
in the clandestine audience of lovelorn
golems flanked by earthen pots with
snake oil and jaggery stored within
with fluorescent saplings whispering
mythical secrets to the soil
saturated with crushed
rose petals from such
nights of beauteous
trysts in the ancient
midnight garden
between us
lovers who
find a little
more of truth
impetus...
is the night

a midwinter day dream
its been a week
since i have spoken to you
thanks to the chemo my libido is dead gone
my skin feels like kalahari in winter
my body a battered battleground
the doc says i don't produce
enough saliva which is
detrimental to my recovery
i talk in whispers or nod
most of the times i just drift farther
further away from all the strange voices
noises all around me that talk of
strange lands in alien languages
today someone asked me
what i wish to do this week
i broke down and blamed it on
my ssri overdose in recent...
since i have spoken to you

violet hour
i stare into blank space
see a million dark stars sending
injun crypts in a cursive that rain
on me dousing the skyhigh white flames
my pores pour my adagio in harmonic waves
i hear my name reverberating within
the cove seeping from the mesolithic murals
and from underneath the phosphorescent water
she glides on the placid lake
immune uberpotent aware
i see her outstretched palm
my eyes don't blink in an eternity
i accept it and my heart calls out
to the wild the wind and the night
replete with the chaotic history...
