it's not just me
even the leaves
and trees agree
the night air
is whispering it
in my ear
just loud enough for the
moonlit street to hear
but the pavement has already felt
your missing feet
and is wondering why
you're not with me.

The longing is well versed while the last lines remind me of the fleeting nature highlighted in Don Henley's "New York Minute".
