Shall we dance...
You cross the smoky room extend your thick hand
as I give you my little one, the first electrifying contact.
Shy and demure I avert my eyes from you,
the song is slow but my heart beats fast,
the smell of your cologne mixes with your scent.mmm…
Something primal stirs deep in my soul,
your voice reverberates against my breast
as you hold me impossibly close to your chest.
My skin comes alive as if a fire has come to life
you raise my chin with your fingers
to view my molten amber eyes,
that betray with things I would rather keep till I die.
Your smile is gentle and your touch tender
as you tighten, on my waist your grasp,
I release a whispered delicate gasp.
Round and round we go, slowly circling,
the dance floor seems to blur
as the world fades to black,
all I can hear is what my heart says
and feel of your arms around my back.
Again you speak and I feel myself swoon,
my legs go weak and body melts against you.
You comment on my intoxicating perfume
and tighten your hold pressing me against you;
leading, I follow it just seems the natural order of things,
I rest my head on your shoulder and close my eyes
and all there is, is your heart beat and mine.
The rhythm of the music, the melding of our bodies,
co-mingle with our scents, your cologne, my perfume,
a heady combination many things suggest…
You whisper in my ear: “I would like to kiss you”,
shivers climb up my spine, you smile, knowing;
my face burns bright, shy, my eyes averted,
you ask: “may I” you bring my eyes to meet yours
the answer is silent but unmistakable.
My breath catches in my lungs as your lips find mine,
they shatter the last resistance left in my mind.
There is no retreat, only total surrender,
in your arms, I am for this moment, yours,
while the music plays ever so soothingly,
we dance to the lyrics belted out smooth,
as if created just for me and you...
