That one weekend in June.

dont leave

 dont leave without me
dont
stay in 9 to 5 heaven
saturated by laundry piles
and broke parts of the day
when i am sober

put on a hard hat
dont speak
alpha
be it

we wash the mould into
the drain
scrub
scrub
scrub
these sheets clean

we toughen up
because that is what we do
in the serious

the long-term

and when my mothers birthday passed
and fathers day too
i cried myself to sleep

what a sad weekend

for any child
with no parents

and without you
i would be alone
counting sheep
and staring through the night

so dont leave
          dont leave without me
or i may crawl back up inside myself
like a hedgehog
- take a wander
hours later
  down the
M

looking for a box or milk
and only getting headlights
