Sad Serenity

There's serenity in my sorrow

Such a sweet, calm breeze

slowly whispering through

each splinter of my sullen spirit

So quiet, you can hardly hear it

Delicate delusions of happiness

almost as sweet as my sorrow

Lingering for just a moment...

before disappearing until tomorrow

A crackling and calm campfire

with weightless wisps of smoke

gradually climbing so much higher

than my dreams of hope

or my hopeless dreams
