Jacob the hunter  (Pt 3)

(It’s been some time since I last made an update to this story. Im looking for thoughts on tone and grammar)

“I know how it sounds, but trust me these savage beasts are real and I will rid this country of them by myself if I have to.” Jacob stares at the determination on Lilith’s face. “I can’t deny these claims you make does align with my goal. So, we can help one another until the goal is done and no further.” Staring at Lilith with his own determination, Jacob resolves himself to end the beast and have his revenge.

Back in town, as Sir Newborn frustratingly awaits for Jacob’s return, he overhears a conversation coming from the local inn’s bar. “That crazed woman Lilith has been spotted close by town this morning. I wonder if she’s still going around spouting her nonsense about hunting her imaginary werewolves, hahaha.”
As Newborn continues to listen, he thinks to about that night and that creature.
“She should be put away and have her brain checked for worms!”, someone else chuckles. He suddenly sees Jacob walking into the bar with an unknown woman. “Lilith!!!” A gasp rises above the din.
“I see you lot have been keeping my name active. What say you that my claims be false, gentlemen?” Lilith asked with disgust in her voice.
“We’ve  been on these roads from before your birth child and never once have we seen your fabled creature.” Replied one man. “You are clearly not in the right of mind woman. You should due away with your nonsense and settle down and birth children like a good little girl.”
Hearing this Lilith being to form a fist, when Jacob intervened, “Gentlemen, with all due respect, these creatures are real, I’ve seen one with my own eyes and I will end its existence when I find it.”
The men stare at each other and burst into laughter. “Hahahaha!!! Boy have you been seduced by this temptress into believing her crazy notions.” replied one man. “Surely this boy is just enamored by her beauty and is not foolish enough to believe these tales of werewolves.”
“Quiet you old fools!!!”, bellowed Jacob. Not wanting to cause anymore unnecessary attention, Newborn rushes towards Jacob. “ Foolish boy, keep your emotions leveled. We are not here to cause a disturbance, Move along now and wait for me outside.”

With Lilith in tow, Jacob hurriedly leaves with Sir newborn behind. Outside Newborn begins to scold him.

“Boy have you lost your wits. You are my squire and shall carry yourself like one. Now I know the words those men said must have ignited rage in you but remember lad we are not common brutes. And you, young lady, I don’t know how you came about being acquainted with young Jacob here or about your past nor do I intend to pry on why you hunt these beasts, but know if you intend to accompany him and me, then you will do right by maintaining your sense in public.”

Feeling a sense of shame from his scolding, Jacob takes a breathe and begins to introduce Lilith to Newborn. He explains how they came to know each other and how she looking to hunt the beasts called werewolves.
“Ahhh, so our goals align for the moment, Ms. Lilith.” Said Newborn.
“Yes, I have my reasons but while I’m you I  will hold myself, as long as I’m not provoked.”

That night while Jacob slept, “ No…no…nooooo!!” He shouts awaking from his nightmare in a cold sweat. “What was that dream?” He asks himself.
He thinks back to what he could remember.
In his dream he saw his sister. She was running towards him changing into something but he couldn’t make out what. And then he saw the beast that ruined his life. It should in front of him. He could feel it breath on his skin, see the saliva dripping from its mouth. He was scared, but he also felt a familiar presence. “Jacob, we will meet soon.” whispers the beast before leaping at him.

The following morning as they prepared to leave. “Boy, I heard a commotion coming from your room, is everything alright with you?” Newborn asked.
“Yes, it was but a dream, more of a nightmare, but I’m well.” Jacob replied.
