respite
meditating on the inner world with thoughts of how it affects the outer
rejuvenating my soul
taking in the beauty and rejecting what doesn't belong in my inner garden
Pursuing what is offered, I side-step the gruesome
It muddies my soul
Violence only makes me fear
my job is gatekeeper of the sacred
Tending to my flowers, I am reminded of beauty
in the great old trees of wisdom
They are keepers of dreams and visions
forsaking nothing they are sentients of time
the sun rises on the gentle and evil alike
my empathic soul takes in so much like it or not
with the feeling of the weight of the world I can't weed out
my medication, mediation is too write
releasing the worst of it
lest it infect me with its negativity
with the responsibility I am reporting, recording the truth
of the human condition
seeking the natural world for my respite
rejuvenating my soul
taking in the beauty and rejecting what doesn't belong in my inner garden
Pursuing what is offered, I side-step the gruesome
It muddies my soul
Violence only makes me fear
my job is gatekeeper of the sacred
Tending to my flowers, I am reminded of beauty
in the great old trees of wisdom
They are keepers of dreams and visions
forsaking nothing they are sentients of time
the sun rises on the gentle and evil alike
my empathic soul takes in so much like it or not
with the feeling of the weight of the world I can't weed out
my medication, mediation is too write
releasing the worst of it
lest it infect me with its negativity
with the responsibility I am reporting, recording the truth
of the human condition
seeking the natural world for my respite
