I wouldn't say Suicidal but January Challenges One ...
The gloom
Early sunset
Cold earth
Waiting
Just waiting
For what you ask
You know
For a reason to believe
For one warmer day to tease us
For anything
A laugh
A smile
An embrace....

I'm trying to warm us up with this little poem.
That park is pretty close to my apartment and I go there often with my dog for solace...

Thank you Brenda
We have to do what we can in this frozen tundra and be grateful that winter is halfway behind us ...

Winter can challenge one's psyche, but hope for that one warm day and the promise of spring is worth holding on. Lovely PS;))

Yes, it's in these never ending winter days that you promise not to complain about the suffocating heat of summer....
As a fellow New Yorker you know Fia !
We are always being challenged here in the big town!
Thanks 🤠

Sometimes we like it though, the darkness, the isolation, everyone moving straight from vehicle to inside, it's yummy. But and ten you also have those days that totally blows. The ice cold rain or sleet, we like to walk in it, we like the cold lonely feeling and thought of death. Great piece dude

Well ME, if you canceled yourself in January you'd certainly get some nodding in agreement...
Personally I like cold weather but it's rewarding to get a few days break within all the melancholy of winter.
Thanks Mister
Don't forget your hat ..

Truth. I'm so tired of Winter. Cleverly penned, Speak. Into the list it belongs. It's been so cold, I sometimes loose my train of thought. Appreciate you.

It is a long slog D.
Everyday the same.
The city winds can't end fast enough.
I'm good down to 20 degrees but my pre-dawn dog walks are a challenge. Maybe I need some dog fur myself....
Thx D

I'll take this and another 6 months please. Summer is nice if it's 75 and breezy. Cool poem and photo.

Yeah Keith
We all want 75 degrees but you have to go to San Diego to cop that year round.
I've got enough skin cancer issues, 75 and sunny day after day would be my downfall.
All that cheerfulness too might be a problem for this ranger.
Hmm winter is looking up..
Thx bro

That's true. San Diego is a nice climate. I see. Well I'm enjoying this cold snap right now.
People are fickle. When it's cold, they want hot, when it's hot they want cold. Shut up already! Be happy that we have 4 seasons here in NY.

I won't complain of the cold, that's just a clothing issue. But the dark.... ugh, it seeps into the pores, and you've nailed it with that waiting feeling...
This is so relatable, I might have to hang onto this one.

Yes
Especially where you hail from.
Going out pre-dawn with my dog, the only other crazy person is the guy on the corner selling fruit. They work in 12 hour shifts 24/7. Covered in layers of clothes and praying for Spring. We always say good morning, it's a community thing ....
Thx for the RL RED !
The darkness really does seep into one's pores. We're halfway through so there's that ..

January is a dead month. Hung over from December with nothing but cold for breakfast.

March is undecided so raw on the menu
April is all over the place
May ..... Rocks

This month is ripping my inner bits to shreds.
I had ONE feeling left. ONE.
I was saving it.
And this fucking month, this winter, and ick is gonna crush it.

Yeah, next week will suck dead dog dicks.
But we are on the other side of it and it is staying lighter longer so it makes it doable..
Thx for the RL Willow

Yes it's chilly (and I know NYC is hella cold), but there is a warm feeling when you do get those smiles and embraces.

Dang
It was 17 degrees when I walked my dog this morning. All of January has been an icebox.
Can't wait for February, not a fun month either but heading towards Spring ...
Grateful for my earmuffs
Thx W

I'm originally from L.A. but some high school friends who moved to places like Wisconsin and Oklahoma will post something like "it's negative 10 today" or "five feet of snow".
I can't really complain about 32 on a chilly morning.

I can do 20 degrees with no wind but often it's very windy here in winter. The winds start mid-October and run to mid-May...
