Collage Art - Not Pretty - What I Do

I do like the piece, and I like that you add numbers in your work. It goes with it.

Ironically a lot of my collages are mounted on cardboard from Amazon boxes.  Often there are numbers on the interior panels.  I like to use tye numbers as a focal centering point.  This particular panel had very thick black numerals so I used my oil pastels to give it a beat up sort of look to blend in with the painted pieces.

Yes, the numbers do have a prisoner feel.  
I always feel like a prisoner of wanting.
I've written about that often.  Now I have art for my cell....

Pretty is subjective though. An no two pair of eyes see the same thing. Some days gritty & real is pretty freaking beautiful

I was really happy with this collage effort, don't get me wrong.  I deliberately wanted a final appearance to be be gritty and patina like in it's look in the mirror.  Especially the numbers.  That was a win !
