Advocatus Diaboli (Forgive Me Father, For I Have Sinned)

bless me father for I have sinned
this is my one and only confession
I’m slowly going out of my mind
and I’m sure the Good Lord does not teach repression
while I represent the Evil One
I play the villain and the saint, father
it starts when you're very young
Santa, the Tooth Fairy
eventually you realise you've been had
and that a little deceit is oh so good
though it's not the law of the man on the wood

but what about my soul?
does Satan not kill less people in the word?
is he really the bad guy?
and father, I do not wish to pry
but it's not Satan who's hatin' me
for the girl I so desire
and yes, I’m probably going to hell
but I wonder if Jesus will be there as well
not for the denial of me and she
but for the hate he implies
that forces her from me

"Hail Mary, full of grace
the Lord is with thee
blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus"

bless me father for I have sinned
this will be my last confession
I’ve come to ask your forgiveness
though I dare not ask for your blessing
for I know my desires are a mortal sin
I have prayed to my Lord for another way
I have prayed and prayed but I cannot change
does not the Lord teach love? thou shalt not judge
so judge me not for what my heart desires
if I am doomed to hell, then so be it
for I will not live one more day in shame

surely the Lord can see that he tears my soul in two
with his rules and regulations
when love should be without stipulations
if loving her lets the Dark One win
one more of His people, then count me in
as a convert to the ways of the Dark Lord, count me father
a sinner, I know it’s true, and so does our All-Seeing Lord
so what is the use of lying and hiding how I feel?
denying myself love wasn’t part of the deal  
an eternity in hell is worth every small moment
I will spend with her in this lifetime

”Holy Mary, Mother of God
pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death
