Typical Saturday Night
Bloodshot skies acting like a backdrop
Trees sway amongst a whispering wind
Redemption glows within the moonlight
While destruction lies around the bend
Seductive rivers carry manipulated beasts
Who bring war to those considered different
Hatred fuels these sinful calloused hearts
By using influence to seduce the innocent
Negative energy hidden behind a backbeat
Festering on the need of further manipulation
Words revealing truth always fall on deaf ears
Because no one seems to read the situation
The things I see are the stories I choose to write
This is nothing more than a typical Saturday night
Trees sway amongst a whispering wind
Redemption glows within the moonlight
While destruction lies around the bend
Seductive rivers carry manipulated beasts
Who bring war to those considered different
Hatred fuels these sinful calloused hearts
By using influence to seduce the innocent
Negative energy hidden behind a backbeat
Festering on the need of further manipulation
Words revealing truth always fall on deaf ears
Because no one seems to read the situation
The things I see are the stories I choose to write
This is nothing more than a typical Saturday night
Author's Note
Late night musing. I refuse to consume the lies. I intend to expose them. Look past the low hanging fruit.

I relate to this. People get too caught up in drama to look at the big picture and grow up and act civilized. Reminds me of the book "Lord of the Flies" so sad how people are

I think most don't want to hear or see the truth, choose to wear blindfolds. It's easier to believe in an illusion, so they don't have to act? You make me ponder again. Great piece, Damian.
