My Birthday
Merry living fully with grace and dignity
Years of age might be quite hidden in me
Bid to recognise the weight of Life and people on me
Impatient to unfold all that is not known to me
Refusing the law of Nature deprives the soul of harmony
Time can chain the body while the soul can be free
How dare I defy what is divine and so sacred to me
Dear is the one in the mirror only with my heart I can see
“Age I Abhor”, that’s Shakespeare! Not me
Yearning over youth blinds the sight to all the wonders age can see.
