Nice Guy Chronicles X

Each love interest
Has left an impression on me
Each one has challenged
My ideals in some form
Yet such is the nature of experience

I don't know whether it was the result of being in a big city
Or whether life felt extra ironic towards me
But I got to a point in which I had no crushes
I had some kind of encounter
With each of them

Now we all know crushes don't always pan out
But they're fun to have as a reminder
That some part of you finds others attractive

My sense of attraction seemed to go away
Maybe it was the workaholic taking over
Or maybe I had just had enough
Who knows

However I am also happy with my life
I'm happy with finally seeing a semblance of progress
So maybe it's tunnel vision

I've been single for so long
I probably need a crash course in dating

However as they say life has its seasons
A fruit tree goes through winter
And loses its leaves
It feels like forever

Then out of the blue
One cherry blossom

Or at least that's how I felt
When I saw someone
Who made me feel a certain way
This feeling had grown foreign to me
Yet It was there

Nothing crazy, just a subtle noticing of someone else

Anything could happen going forward
Pain and Heartbreak could come again
Or things could work out this time
The only way to know

Is by taking the plunge

Who knows where all our life experiences go
Yet for now, all we can do is live

The Chronicles are never ending
