Desire
Yea, I shield you from things that seem so good,
O desires, for Judgment day, stand afar
I guide you away from torments you blindly seek,
Am I the wrongdoer? or are you?
Though it is I who awakens at night, absent sleep
Cos you did let pain pierce my hearts' armour
And with my enemies you, gladly, sided.
The deserts lack water.
So too the eyes that reason doth gives-
you lack!
Prepare yourself- this drought is real.
Yea, cry and weep
for with chains I bind thee!
You shall seek not this world;
To the end
Ready yourself for a long wander;
Sorrow for company, grief for friend.
And ready yourself to pass the passing;
Like other passers passed before thee!
You shall seek not this world;
To the end
Ready yourself for a long wander;
Sorrow for company, grief for friend.
And ready yourself to pass the passing;
Like other passers passed before thee!
