Release
I willfully release
all things
that are not meant to be.
I willfully release
all things
that are not meant for me.
There is no use,
in holding onto things
without intentions of being kept.
Regardless of how much I tried,
regardless of all the nights I’ve wept.
I set them free;
and should they ever come back..
well,
I guess we’ll see….

Author's Note
Not all things nor people that come into our life are meant for forever. They may stay for only awhile, or possibly forever. This poem is about letting go, and doing so in good conscience, no longer worrying about yesterday. Because it is just that, yesterday. Today and tomorrow are new days, and we should treat the present, as a gift. Live in the moment, and if it comes back, then it was yours to begin with…If not, you know the rest…

Kinda makes us think of the poem this poem we read once about releasing a love one and if they return it was meant to be. We can't remember the title it was hanging in a lady's bedroom, but tight piece

Dear PG,
I appreciated this poem for its reminder to let go. The toxicity of obsessing over things can be stifling. Your formatting was almost subliminal in the suggestion of “release” I found very cool. Terrific write. H🌷

H, thank you so much for your kind words.
Sometimes we need a reminder in life, mostly when we refuse acceptance of what is. I hope this reached others as it has reached you. Thanks for reading.

It can be a difficult thing to do, but it can be done. When it is, life can be so much better.
