My Letter to the Woman with the Famous Blue Raincoat
It’s four in the morning
And I could not sleep
I’m thinking of you
But I could not weep
You left me cold
In the land of the living
My music you took
As I lay there dying
I heard that you left
With the man I did trust
Into the desert
Where stone turns to dust
My hope was an illusion
Not very pleasant
Megan came with the news
That you were gone
She said that your heart
Had turned to stone
That night you secretly
Planned to run free
Never thought I’d be
The one who’s set free
Last time I saw you
You looked so sincere
Your famous blue raincoat
Was crystal clear
You never meant
To come back
We never meant to be
With him your heart
Wanted to flee
If ever you come back
Know that I’ve moved away
We are together
Megan and I
I hope you won’t try
Or think
I want you to stay
There is nothing to tell you
There is nothing to say
My brother
My lover
I loved you
My trust you betrayed
Although I still miss you
I can not forgive you
You took my heart
That hurtful day
Sincerely Sam Nash
