In my potato salad reverie, I forgot to mention that I really like the painting. I see different things every time I look at it (shadowy figures, etc.) Minimal color has maximum effect. You do it well.

When I look at this, I see a figure in a cage. I think the starkness is appropriate and yet, I like the pops of color. They suggest playfulness, hope maybe. I think it’s the perfect depiction of your poem.

The poem really makes you think... whose? Love it! Also, I can feel the message of the poem in the art piece above. I see that passion characterized in the sporadic bits of color amongst the grit in black and grey. And the pure white of servitude, with even purer intentions
