Nocturnal Tranquility...
Tucked within the Blue Ridge tapestry,
I watched, with passion, as skies of sun
and indigo kissed day goodbye.
Droplets of dew fell from the ether
to then be carried upon a chaotic zephyr
while I bundled around the fire.
As hues of muted grey painted the sky,
the moon made its debut in a pale,
yet supple form; granting the slightest mångata atop the liquid mirth.
As the cosmos embraced the lake from
the expanse of its astral plane,
I played voyeur; wrapped up in their moonlight reverie, and thoroughly
enjoying the cold, yet comforting moments
of nocturnal tranquility.

Dear P,
I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. The images and gentleness as night settles in and the body relaxes from the day were very soothing and calming and this piece leant itself beautifully to that for me. H🌷

"In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia" were you? That poem brought the scene to life.

Thank you, I'm glad my imagery was well felt. And yes, the Blue Ridge mountains are part of my homeland, although this view took a few hours to get to. Beautiful country here!💚

Yeah, me too. I've taken escapes from this place, but never that long. The family atmosphere just started feeling foreign and it hurt a little. I hope I continue to keep with it. Thanks for the warm welcome. Hugs from afar!

This poem beautifully captures the serene beauty of nature, particularly in the Blue Ridge mountains. The imagery of the sun setting, the moon rising, and the gentle embrace of the cosmos reflected on the lake creates a vivid and peaceful scene. The use of descriptive language, such as "skies of sun and indigo," "droplets of dew," and "muted grey painted the sky," adds depth to the imagery and enhances the reader's experience. The poet's reflection on the tranquil moments of the night, wrapped in moonlight, conveys a sense of contentment and harmony with the natural world.

Thank you, Richard, for reading me and leaving such a generous reply. Imagery is important and I glad you took that away from my humble poem.✨

Hey Pandy! It's great to see you! It's been so long.
The Blue Ridge tapestry is so gorgeous...
And I would have thought it impossible to capture in words,
but you managed to do it anyway. ;)
"thoroughly
enjoying the cold, yet comforting moments
of nocturnal tranquility."
Completely immersed in your imagery and could not agree more...
I absolutely adore the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Do you go White Water rafting? So much fun!!!

Thanks sweetpea. It's so good to see you as well and it's been too long actually. I noticed a comment or two elsewhere, but I need to play catch up. You have my gratitude on those too, so please know that 🌸✨
I'm a child of nature's escapes, and you could put me in a canoe or on a jetski, but white water rafting was something I always feared. It's totally out of my safe zone now, and I wish I would've before my injury years ago. So my word of advice is to take chances in life (within the bounds of safety) because you never know when or if the ability will be taken away. Sigh...
Do you?

So sorry to hear about your injury, that's always difficult especially when you are a child of nature's escapes. I love cycling too especially where there are a lot of hills. I find myself taking chances even when I shouldn't but anyway... Oh yes! I definitely go white water rafting. I love being immersed in nature along with some thrills and working the body. The Blue Ridge Mountains are one of the most gorgeous areas in America and it would be absolutely terrible to not take some time to immerse yourself in them. We are far too often shackled to technology these days.
I wrote one a while back about white water rafting called "The moment of my death"... :p

Pandy, the natural scenery here is made into a deeply spiritual verse that resonates with my soul. Your mastery of the poetic form shines here like the moon in a night sky. There is magic here that enthralls me as your words pass before my eyes.
