From the Green Lands
from the green lands
in the undergrowth of the green pines
when the morning sun effusively shines
where shadows and lights play turns
shepherds have left beaten pathways
beneath the birds from varied corners
they twitter they shriek they warble
from their low and high pitched voices
a sweet a symphony heavenly created
and out of the thick trees that sway
when the breathing wind starts to sigh
stretch the hills with emerald greens
and curved stones to keep the rains clean
the fresh time is like being newly born
a water clean spirit from earth's womb
restored to its original dusty form
here is the sense of the human soul
when the river winds thru the green fields
where barley and wheat seeds were sown
it snakes onto the rocky misty hills
and far beyond, the small flat town
the wind sings a lyrical slow tune
and the sparrow skips safely on the lea
its vibes akin to the month of June
a breezy warmth awakened within me
where heaven speaks in verse to me
when the poetry lands inspired free
where the silence is the wise advisor
heaven's gates open, truth you can see
