Butterfly Dance

She walked into the nightclub
in a tantalizing tight black dress
accentuating every curve
strangely beautiful, I must confess.

Wearing orange Bakelite jewelry
she bought for just fifty cents
silver rings on every finger
her confidence sure to impress.

She stepped out on the dance floor
swaying those curving hips
showing off her Monarch wings
a mischievous smile upon dark red lips.

No one knew what to make of it
they’d never seen a creature like her before
with wings spread out and fluttering
as she seductively danced across the floor.
