My Valentine Past

Love starts with a tale told
where roses blooms in rainbow hues
at the time hearts secret are told
large red prints on paper that burns

eyes meeting over lighted candles
hands touching folded over the other
cupid's arrow through two hearts
pinned together in erotic fire

lost now in depths of memories
in a puff of roses petals confetti
emptiness into unfathomable loss
hands left folded on its own

love can't go searching for itself
when hearts are sold and lost
there's nothing left to hold tight
no flowers no candies or kisses

they say you breathe so therefore
there's hope, that constant glimmer
that love be found again under new skies
but promises are like a ribbon of forever
