MAGA Paleolithicus
They were an undiscovered type of ape
living among us in truck stops and bars
where there was no acceptable escape
from substance abuse and loud guitars,
and thus they had no complete trains of thought
to mollify the beast in beasty mode
where pride soon saw that they remained untaught
except for using congress as a commode
rather than for tutored parlance, as meant,
and so turbulence ruled MAGA hearts,
so much so, that the jargon which they spent
made less sense than dabbled Mexican farts
triggering trauma at The Taco Bell...
then, boomer apeshit border runs to hell.

Author's Note
Still deplorable. They've learned nothing.
Maybe we should let each of their votes only count for three fifths of a vote.

Merely looking at the phenomenon through the lens of anthropology, so to speak:)

Sounds right to me but seventy odd millions
(allegedly ) voted for that thing
no wonder he screams fraud.
Some guardian Angel must be looking
after the world. Time & SCOTUS will tell...

they are, but aggrieved masses
will take anyone claiming Messiah
for his word
so long he always goes against the oxymoron that is common sense.
Nailed it MS.👏👏👏

Eager greetings to you, comrade Blue!
I will make it my lexicographic mission to discover an atheistic synonym for "amen".
There must be one somewhere:)

Thank you, Grace.
You are so right.
Grouchy people are most certainly a global problem.

I will preface this comment with the declaration that I am a liberal and opposed to the MAGA agenda/ philosophy/cult -whatever-and its despicable leaders (plural because I count the boot licking apologists among the leaders). Read my work, this should be clear. However, by vilifying the supporters, we fall into the trap of political divisiveness. Yes, I have done this out of anger and frustration (again read my work) The MAGA voters you (and I) vilify have come to accept a similar view of us. So we are at an impasse and the extremists win. Those that profit from division win. Those that sow division profit. Could another path be trying to understand and diffuse the division? I don’t know- just some late night rambling.

Re: Re. MAGA Paleolithicus
Good morning, Trillium,
Let me start my response by saying that your comment is as well timed, since I just had breakfast, as it is well considered:)
Thusly I suspect that you will not be too shocked to discover that I am in almost complete agreement with you, and I will do my utmost to respect your worthy intelligence.
Yes, our MAGA acquaintances deserve respect, generally, and all the customary rights and privileges of citizenship, such as they are.
That being said, the responsibilities of that same citizenship demand that we push back against fellow citizens who are stuck in a misguided psychological state wherein they allow themselves to become a threat to their fellow citizens, or themselves, and part of that obligation involves the occasional description of their atrocious behaviors.
Blame the behavior, not the individual. (The challenge to penitence lay in the separation)
This activity will be akin to the rehab interventions provided for the denial riddled substance abuser. The similarities between substance abuse behavior and the abuse of political and legal ethics are astonishingly noteworthy, and those notes might be cohered into a powerful argument for metaphor savvy poets as potentially superior leaders than the profit whore business bros that current conventional wisdom has come to rely on.
Forgive the digression, but it serves to illustrate where I'm coming from and I think you deserve to have a clue, at the very least, about that.
And I stand by my comment preference of honest critique encouragement, so I am always delighted to address any concerns, whatsoever, that I am qualified to address, and will cheerfully admit to missing qualifications, whenever the lacking qualification fails to be apparent.
I grew up in a big family, so conversation comes easily to me, sometimes too easily, but I've always preferred that to the awkward silences wherein misunderstanding is most commonly bred.
I actually enjoy political science, and identify as a Whig, albeit mostly for the anachronistic aesthetic.

Thank you for the considered reply. I agree with your statement “That being said, the responsibilities of that same citizenship demand that we push back against fellow citizens who are stuck in a misguided psychological state wherein they allow themselves to become a threat to their fellow citizens, or themselves, and part of that obligation involves the occasional description of their atrocious behaviors. ”
There must be pushback-I am still stuck on how to do it productively and maybe change behaviour or views. So far I don’t have a good answer.
I think there will be a write on this topic soon.
Have a good day 😄
