Job
As I sit here, fingers rest on the keyboard, daydreaming.
My job is a job, not a career but it gives me what I want
It has it's pro's and con's
I work from home in a spare room I called my place of safety
Since 2020 this is where I reside
The room was my retreat, my sanctum
Engrossed in books, music & movies
Now job aids, spreadsheets and other dull work materials stepped in
It interferes with my interests
It suffocates my escape
Work is home and home is work
A terrible concept but it’s the truth
Gone were the days of interacting with others face to face
Getting together during lunch, walking, talking, making new friends
Now it’s me, my thoughts, and this large monitor I’m staring at
During lunch & break I can get household chores completed
Wonderful to accomplish, mundane and lifeless to the mind
This is one of the reasons why I joined DUP
I needed to break away, and writing has helped my sanity.
Thanking all of you for being supportive.
