I AM NOT ALL MY POEMS

I continually marvel how
there is a tendency to equate
or judge poets to be what  they
write about. I plead not guilty
to that charge. Rarely, if ever
"I am what or who I write about."
I once read there are 168 poetry
writing styles. In college I was
taught there were 29.
I know most forms of literature
has a way of drawing the reader
into the text creating opinions,
and even identity and pros and
cons conclusion about the writer.
I, as most of us tend to do, draw
on personal observations, imaginary
scenarios, research, etc.
NO! NEVER am I speaking for any
other poet or writer. Just for myself.
