Ice Scraper....
The little things of life,
are the Mosaic of Eternity.
Crookedly laid, obliquely marked.
Random puzzles are roughly fitted.
Eternal truths look like dogmas.
It will endure and sweeten, or else.
There is a time for every moment.
Everything that is not given will become desires.
Puzzles will be put together with gravestones.
The little things of life hold the pieces together.
Someone with a rose, someone with a club.
Crookedness is straightened, truth is crooked,
and in Eternity they will draw closer -
to each other by signs of equality.
The sky is bottomless, the arguments are ridiculous.
A thin layer of ice on the windshield of life.
So skillfully scraped despite them.
Winters become many springs.
Destinies intertwine, glances meet.
And we know what is important again.

Author's Note
Not sure why but I was just thinking of an instance from a while ago where I had just had a fight with a guy and as he was leaving he took the time to scrape the ice off my windshield. How that small gesture touched my heart and made me feel loved in that moment despite the conflict. It's so important to remember and see all of the little things...
I miss you guys and I know I missed so much good stuff for Halloween. Sad face.
Anyway, I hope this little message might connect with you in some way. :)

Existence itself is a contradiction, we are and then we are also nothing. There is no such thing as uniformity except within the mind, and there is always varying degrees of love, even within a relation. This is why love is like a child requiring continual care and nurturing. Remember there are no straight lines in nature, so expect every path to be a serrated blade, really tight one Lady

I love the depth of your comment I_IS_ME and how you connect with things. I especially love the 'expect every path to be a serrated blade'. I can identify with that very deeply, and have been cut very deeply by many of those paths... A like to say perception is 9/10th of reality and I feel like that applies to much of what you are saying here. Love does require continual care and nurturing and without the bad times perhaps we could never enjoy the good times as much. There are many contradictions in life. You know how much I love getting a 'really tight' from you. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for your thoughts!

That's so true. We notice all of the little touches and details don't we? ;) And they are definitely part of winning a woman's heart and making it melt like butter. And hopefully that is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. :)

this makes me think of a message I sent this morning about a dream I had last night...plus all my questions of life in the bigger picture I forget a lot of things and I know I've been through just this life... sometimes I remember I guess when it is important... the problem for me is all the people I've been or connected to sometimes all talk to me at once and I don't know it is better to remember or forget... in any case there are some awkward and fierce men that surround me in dreamtime they seem to love me but frighten me...they are not human and I wonder where they come from perhaps I knew them long ago in the immortal...I look forward to answers someday but I wonder will I get them or will it be more forgetfulness and more simmering rage to deal with and not really knowing who to direct it at...I'm getting deja vu as I type this....I don't what triggered this response Kristina but your poem is beautiful 💕

Ah, to remember of forget... that's always a big question. But the culmination of all those voices, feelings, experiences make us who we are and I think you are beautiful. So hopefully you only forget the things you really need to but don't forget to keep being you! Ah, frightening men that love you; that's definitely an extensive subject to cover. I hope you will find the answers you seek especially the ones that calm the simmering rage and allow you to love fully. I like it when something I have written is able to trigger a deep response and I definitely feel the things you have said. I love that you found this beautiful and were able to connect with it Brenda. :)

Re. Ice Scraper....
In the Mosaic of Eternity there's a deep isomorphic flux between the cosmic order and the material by-production of all our thoughts, whereby poetry is the reflexional node of the psyche.
Who knows where it will take any of us, but sometimes a recycling of what we already know is best:)

Ah that flux does seem to have a way of batting out little vessel around doesn't it but the material by production of all of our thoughts wins as far as perception is concerned doesn't it? 'poetry is the reflexional node of the psyche' I like that description. You are always very poetic in your choice of words MS.
It will take us to so many places, new, old, familiar, different, and strange. But that's what keeps life interesting. It seems we are always recycling what we already know into each new place however. It makes us who we are although we can constantly expand, mold, and change into something a little different each time.

Hi Kristina,
it's always the small things that we remember. Sure, grand gestures are great - but in the grand scheme of things
we want to feel nurtured, even through the rough times.
This is a great poem expressing that - the bickering and the back and forth:)
So happy to see you post!

It truly is the small things that hold the puzzle together isn't it? For each grand gesture how many small things are there in between that keep that bond growing and allow us to place the next piece. That desire to feel nurtured is always there in some way even when you like it rough. I mean definitely through the rough times. ;) So happy you think this poem did it's job of expressing that. I remember it was a pretty heated fight but don't even remember what it was about now funny enough. I do however remember how that gesture just made the whole thing better. Despite who is right or wrong (often both are wrong), sometimes when you just step back and remember the caring and love you can find a much better solution to any problem. And thanks Chica, it feels like it's been so long since I posted something (I suppose because it has). Sad face. Hopefully I will post again sooner rather than later and get some reading time in too. :)

Dear K,
If he isn’t busy could you please send him over to my house I have some weeds that need tending and I’d be ever so grateful…😊
I really enjoyed this lovely write because it’s such a great reminder that the big things are obvious but the little things are the ones that build up and make life palatable. This poem will make me think twice before I storm off after a tiff with someone next time to do something nice even if I’m annoyed with them. Beautiful message. H🌷

Haha, yeah let's get him back into the weeds again for you. ;) As always, you have a way with words Honoria. I love how you described the little things; they truly are what build up and keep life palatable. And I love how you have taken the meaning to heart, sometimes it's so much easier to diffuse the situation and bring things back to a caring and loving place than we think. Often egos get in the way and it's more about who is right despite the damage being done. Each person having their own perspective and maybe nobodies right in the end. Or perhaps being right is going to make you miserable. But when you do something nice for someone it really does make things better. :) It's so great to see you Honoria.

Definitely reflective and hopefully it will help some get out of fights in the future. ;) (and make up sex is always great too :p) But the little things add up and keep the whole story together. Definitely a reflective piece. We always need to keep learning in a relationship and this was a good lesson about how putting ego aside and making a small gesture can really make things even better than before. I adore getting an awesome from you Lj. Thanks so much!

Sometimes strangers, sometimes not! but destinies do have a way of intertwining don't they and one thing leads to another. We are always putting together that big puzzle of life piece by piece. And when you take chances I think that puzzle can become much more expansive, intricate, and interesting. Or it can become way more complicated and difficult. lol Anyway, I love that you found it well penned and appreciate your thoughts so much!

It’s amazing that no matter what goes on in the surface it’s what’s underneath that is a much bigger emotional stronghold. His gesture was just that, despite the argument he cares for your safety.

Yes, that foundation that exists underneath can be so much stronger than any strife that happens. It would have been easy to just storm off mad but instead that caring was stronger and all that stuff was put aside. I have to admit the little things really do mean so much to a woman. Especially those loving, kind, and thoughtful things that just melt your heart! But I know men love the little things too right? ;) I love that you found it touching Wally!

"Everything that is not given shall become desires"
This line hit me like a ghost train smashing into my soul. Mid life is approaching and I'm so tired of one sided relationships. Devoted to my partners satisfaction, yet she just takes it all in then rolls over and leaves me simmering.
Your poem to me is about being torn between two paths, you can only choose one, yet the desperate determination to zip them both together and enjoy the best of both worlds is unending.
To love unconditionally, yet not to be loved the same in return. Am I not worthy, do I not deserve to be satisfied in the same ways I'll always give from my heart and soul? Am I just a servant, a means of convenience?
Iv probably misinterpreted your poem completely, but that one line strick a minor chord.
Apologies my Lady. A rant instead of praise. You are a powerful Witch and words are your spells. Never stop casting them into the world, for you like so many, will never know how much people will need them. Xxx

It's so true that when you give everything of yourself and someone just takes that you are left unfulfilled. When you are a very sensitive person who needs intimacy it takes a certain type of person to truly be content. I know for me, I am a pleaser and so much of what makes me fill incredible is making someone else feel that way. But I still need that appreciation of those things, to feel that. ;) In some ways it's very easy to feel but you know what I mean. Of course I also need to feel my own explosive orgasms damnit! :p I think there are always two paths... well multiple paths. And enjoying the best of all worlds makes for a truly incredible journey. When you love unconditionally and someone just takes more and more then I that's a recipe for disaster. Perhaps it's time to take one of those different paths. Because to simply be a servant or a convenience will never be fulfilling to your heart and soul. And rest assured that someone exists whose heart and soul matches your own.
Don't be silly with the apology. I liked what you have to say and that you shared with me. I must say I do love the portrayal as a powerful witch and I do like casting words. ;) I must admit I don't fully grasp how much people need them but I do love it so much when I can make people feel something.

Just when I thought you were at your pinnacle,
Your heart uncovers another miracle!
For random things are your passport to mammoth life,
As you unravel the pieces that heal the strife.
Bravo, Kris! Your artistry is well defined in this tapestry of fervent heat. Simply put, your ice scraper is a skyscraper, a way-maker, a breath-taker, a lifesaver. Your Mosaic-of-Eternity metaphor elicits the incremental, seemingly random designs that pool at the epitome of their dna to rescue existence from coincidence.
You say, "Everything that is not given will become desires." Deprivation is, indeed, the flame that infernos passion, the ink that awakens want, the discordant note that symphonises the orchestra. I like "Crookedness is straightened" but, I daresay, I would caution against truth becoming crooked. I believe everything, in its journey, may be striving for truth, but truth itself is not compromisable.
Your perspective is wonderful, articulate, and inspiring. I could make a thousand mountains out of "A thin layer of ice on the windshield of life." For that's what disenchantment is -- just something that, in passing, helps to shape resolve, burnish hope, and claim victory.
Bravo.

So eloquently stated and poetic. Your mind is a beautiful place that so easily carries your magnificent thoughts... "Your heart uncovers another miracle!" certainly filled me with happiness to hear you say that. Strife is so easily found and often happiness seems elusive but it can come in so many unexpected ways.
I am continually wowed by your presence and this line "Simply put, your ice scraper is a skyscraper, a way-maker, a breath-taker, a life saver" is so powerful. It reaches into my core and makes me feel the power of words. And yes the seemingly random designs that pool often somehow don't seem random at all. Like that beautiful mosaic is seeking to exist just so.
Indeed "Everything that is not given will become desires" Those wants and needs that fuel the passionate fire to obtain them. That which excites so deeply and we cannot help but to pursue it. And yes the truth is not comprisable. It simply is although sometimes we need a new truth. And some truths can be very painful but I always say that wisdom is gained through suffering. And so we continue to do the best with the truths that are dealt and to define new ones that make us a better person no matter how crooked some truths might be.
I love that you were able to identify with this one and your thoughts and perspective mean so much to me. It's so interesting what all can be made from a thin layer of ice on the windshield of life. And it may be very cold at times but it can be exceptionally beautiful too. And the cold can make you feel so intensely. Like a cold plunge in ice cold water following the sauna or thermal springs. What an incredible feeling it can be. Contrasts can be wonderful. :)

Just like a novel, there may be an overall theme, but the story requires each chapter, paragraph, and word for it to come together. Very intelligent premise my poetess, recognizing the puzzle that is life is made up of individual moments and actions.
The ice scraping is a class act showing that even in turmoil and or conflict; one protects their loved ones. And it shows your character that you noticed and recognized the small gesture. Now granted, you being an unique intelligent, sociable hottie that “ice scraper” guy recognizes types like you don’t grow on trees, and doesn’t want to lose you.

Well if you say very intelligent premise then that makes me very happy. You are a genius after all right? ;) The puzzle of life is definitely made up of individual moments and actions. Some part of the puzzle can be very ugly while others very beautiful but it all comes together to create something whole that defines us.
It's easy to be upset or mad but seeing through that and letting the love, caring, and affection still show itself is beautiful. It really has a way of touching the heart and making things feel good in that moment. I am very detail oriented so I always notice things done out of caring, affection, and love. Still I notice all the other things too. ugh! :p But I am a romantic so hold on tight to the former and let go of the latter whenever I can. I certainly don't need strife in my life.
Wow, I can't help but love that last part of your comment. I don't know what to say to that but hell yeah! Strange doesn't grow on trees but it can be a hell of a lot of fun! :p

We poets are sensitive dummies, we are in the drifting winds of destiny, but when awake at something eerie or unusual then it is poetry that we react.
Nice philosophy with a brush of romanticism and nostalgia melt to create a word.
We are not poets for nothing,
Thanks for your visit Kristina

I love that you see the romanticism and nostalgia clearly melting together to bring this one to life. We are poets for so many reasons... It must be because I am so happy to get your incredible praise. I absolutely adore the way you feel about this offering and that it was rewarding. I appreciate your thoughts so much. It's a wow comment for me. ;)
Good people definitely have bad days. We all have those moments don't we, no one is perfect. That one gesture really changed the course of our next meeting. :) He showed me that despite our differences he still cared and would take the time to do something that would have easily been left. That meant a lot to me. I love doing little things that show affection and appreciation.
