Image for the poem santorini

santorini

those towering
stone cliffs
hold you,
sentinel like
monuments
at santorini,

they are
unmovable
cliffs
since conceived,
their first
breaths,

unapologetic,
that same
stable gaze,
from
countless eyes,

the waters
around you,
safe,
satisfied
below you,

each wave
rising, falling,
resting on
your shore,
washing
your feet.
