the healing word

The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to
the healing of the world.”―Marianne Williamson

tether not thou the tender tongue
          that tempers tears and thorns,
                    when tyrant terrors thrust their throng
                              at you and blow their horns.
                                        delimit not the lisping lips
                                                  that lave the limping loins
                                                            of him defeated by eclipse
                                                                      where light with darkness joins.
                                                                      mute not the message of  the mouth,
                                                            whose generosity
                                                  relieves the silence of uncouth
                                        impetuosity.

                              hinder not thou the hopeful heart
                    that brings the healing word;
          let all your songs be a la carte
and faith a soaring bird.
